I can't programme for toffee man. I'm not the best with graphics either. I build websites, that and usability/information architecture is my forte. I love the whole usability sector of the web. That's probably the only thing keeping me interested in the industry. While we are here, who's up for a discussion on information architecture? Howay, it's a blast. No? Im stuck just started to try and teach meself this thing for the website so I thought Id have a go at a ridiculously easy calendar thing but no matter what I do or how much I google I cant suss whats up. I have this PC which is fully installed with my broadband, Im in the middle of swapping it with another, slightly better one but when I try to install the broadband on the new one it goes through the whole process of setting up account etc. Am I missing something? or do I just need to install the drivers for the modem? although I seem to be having problems even just doing that. Anyone know if I can just swap some files over onto new PC to get it to run?

Do you just read all posts as you want to read them? I clearly say the words "those are race riots" I havent seen anyone else agree with you about the bling comments. Im starting to get the feeling that you're not willing to see another side of the discussion, I and many others have attempted to raise serious issues but you just ignore them. You, me and the gatepost know that you havent got 16 letters after your name and frankly it doesnt make any difference to me but attempting to justify your argument by saying "Im cleverer than you so Im not listening." is just sad.

Nobody on this board has given racist abuse to anyone else either another member or player, at least not that I or any other mode has seen, if they had then they would have been warned/ banned. I believe I have shown my views on that in the past and took some stick for it. I dont disagree that there will be people with racist views just as there may well be people on here who are muggers, twockers and even murderers, without them showing themselves we cant be expected to police that. I fail to see where I have changed my views on this throughout the thread, I agree that any racism is bad but disagreed all along with the bling argument. I do however, believe that there are some people in this country whos views on race etc have changed for the worse through arguments such as yours, thats not a personal attack on you just a belief I have that the more it is rammed down peoples throats that minority groups should be treat differently and given preferential treatment then the more people will grow resentful. As for Birmingham, those are race riots between asian and black clearly showing that this isnt just a white issue.

I won't list the issues you personally fail to see regarding racism (and your responsibilties) but feel free to PM if you want to know. 49457[/snapback] Racism is a terrible thing which needs to be stamped out however my argument against yours isnt about that its your view of what constitutes racism and the fact that because you didnt see black fans on Sunday then the club is racist. We also disagree on what should be done to rectify things and on how bad the problem actually is. I dont agree that a few stats showing higher percentages of black youths in prison or that there are no black judges or few black football mangers means this country is racist. There are other socio-economic factors to take into account as well as the fact that like it or not, a number of black youths lean toward the whole gun/ drug culture therefore they will inevitably end up in prison or dead. I also strongly dislike the argument you are making that because you can quote someone on this board saying "Jenas is a bling bastard" then this or other boards are racist. The fact nobody has said the same sentence against Bellamy doesnt make the original occurence of it racist. No matter how many times you repeat it, the word bling is not a racist slur, its a form of the word flash as in "hes a flash bastard". I keep bringing up the fact you have three accounts for the simple reason that you made out you only registered here at the weekend, by doing that you made me wary of your motives. I do believe that as an established member of this board you would have gained more respect originally if you'd posted as yourself.

16 letters? daf_fu_kingsh_te so if you have 16 letters after your name then you must have started university a lot earlier than anyone else because by my calculations you are 20. Now normal people start higher ed at the age of 18 and it takes 4 years or so. I applaud you my friend because you are either a very early starter or more likely attempting to make yourself look better than everyone else by making up pure bollocks to look academicacacal.

So are you saying that there was only one black person in the crowd yesterday? did you count them? so nobody was sitting beside you or in your line of vision? so what? it means nothing and even if there was none, that doesnt say we're racist, it says that on that day no black people wanted to go watch the toon. Are you saying that black people are afraid to go to the game or implying that NUFC stop black people buying tickets? Go down the Bigg Market on a Saturday night and you'll see black lads walking around without any hassles, if you can feel safe doing that then a football match isnt going to worry you. Three times now in this thread I've seen mention of stats and government figures which state that this country is racist but am yet to see anyone post a link to these stats or even let it be known who produced them. I've given my view on that but we seem to have skipped it. I've said it twice and others have too but now Im certain in my mind about it, the main people who highlight the colour of a persons skin are those that claim they're not racist and tell us all we are. I can honestly say that I dont notice the colour of skin in any way other than if asked to describe a person. I dont see a black lad as being any different to me but if I started bleating on about how hard it must be for Dyer or Shola or Joe Bloggs down the road because they're black then Im patronising them and frankly highlighting the only difference to make an issue of it. As for what appears to be a dig at HTT with reference to racism..whats all that about? I've never seen anything to make me think HTT is racist or agrees with racism. Would you care to explain it?

Not that they would make a better copper but more that they will better help to represent the communities, there are a few jobs where I would agree with some form of positive recruitment (theres a difference between that and positive discrimination). The Police force being one of those, a growing section of our communities are black, asian, gay etc and showing that the force doesnt discriminate against these groups within itself will help show that they dont disciminate in their dealings with the community. However employing a person as a copper purely because they are black, female or gay (or any combination of the above) would be a bad move, all applicants should prove that they'd make a good officer before being given the job.

Strangely mate, I was thinking the same thing however seeing as there have been so many great black players then I cant see why black managers wouldnt be given a job I therefore put it down to one simple fact, not many black people want to be a football manager.

But again, statistics are only as good as the people you gain them from, its a fact of life that if you interview 100 black people and say "are you paid enough?" they will say no, however interview 100 white people and you'll get the same answer. How can you get a statistic of racism and sexism being rife? the only possible way to get a valid answer on this is to ask the managers and HR teams of the country "would you give the job/ promotion/ pay rise to a person based on the colour of their skin or their sex?" If many answer yes then its valid however they're not going to be honest they would lie and say no. So then the way these stats are produced is to go to the black or female communities and say "did you get the last promotion/job/ pay rise you went for?" the fact that some didnt doesnt mean anything. I went for 13 promotions to a grade below the one I was currently working in on a temporary basis but didnt get them, there were women and black men/women who did, does that mean I was discriminated against? no, it means I fooked up the form/ didnt spend enough time doing it/ got pissed off with the process or scarily, in some cases there were people better qualified than myself who did get it. Im sorry but all statistics are bollocks and produced by government departments who want to keep their job, if the department for racial equality did a survey and announced "there is now officially no racism in this country" then there would be no job for those people (and Im not saying thats what they do or that their role isnt important, before anyone jumps on that statement).

I agree with the argument overall but to decide that because you've heard or read a comment that you've taken as being racist doesnt make all forum members or newcastle/ football fans in general guilty of it. I do however feel that in the main, this country is not racist or sexist, whether in the workplace, the football ground or life in general. There are many reasons why there are less female or black managers than white male all of which can be turned around by people and made to be racist/ sexist reasons. Less female managers? a) lots of businesses such as heavy engineering etc have less female entrants, not because the business dont want females but because they themselves would rather not do that work therefore theres less of them to be promoted. b ) many women during their career leave to have children, its a fact of life that no matter how equal we want to be we cannot reverse genetics therefore breaks in careers make it harder to keep upto date or gain as much experience as a male counterpart. Less black managers? a) rightly or wrongly a lot of the black community come from poorer areas, and I know that this could be seen as a form of racism however its a fact of life, if someones grandfather came to this country and had to learn the language and get around the prejudices of the time then they ended up in the poorer paid jobs, this then gives their descendants less opportunity to gain better education than someone in a middle class background, again not fair but also in itself not racist. We as a generation cannot be made to pay for the previous generations problems. b ) There are less black people in this country than white so you could never get an even split, if you did then there would obviously be some form of racism involved (because believe it or not, racism against white people does happen). What can be seen though is that those black members of the country who have gone on and gained a higher level of education have in their careers gone on to be as successful as a white counterpart. Go to the city of London and you'll see many black men and women who are at the top of their careers, running companies and managing multi billion pound share dealings, Im sure they would be horrified if they thought they were there to meet targets or make up the numbers. No they're there because they were the best person for the job. Just as dropping Amdy Faye wouldnt be racist it would be because we had some other player available, personally Id happily ask for volunteers from the crowd before playing him but thats another story.
