Fair play, he's been getting worse from some Newcastle fans recently. Something the team deserved because of the delivery... Still, I'd like to think maybe after a few more displays like today, some of the critics would be big enough to give him some credit. We'll see, I suppose. Shepherd thinks that because Newcastle have spent a lot of money over the past few years then that makes him a good chairman.It doesn't. With 40-odd thousand season tickets and all the TV and commercial revenue it would be a disgrace if Newcastle didn't have a lot of money to spend. The problem with Shepherd is that his judgement on the big decisions has been consistently wrong. We let Bobby go at the wrong time and replaced him with Souness who was never the answer and we all knew that. And now we are stuck with Roeder who doesn't have a strong enough personality to cope with being a premiership manager or with Shepherd. I get the impression that if we hit a bad patch then Roeder will look like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

With regards to the saga of the delays in the building of the new Wembley stadium. When the plans were first being drawn up for a new national stadium there was the opportunity of it being built in a central location which would have been be fair to all football fans in the country. But of course as soon as London got its greedy hands on the project it was never going to be built anywhere else. This discriminates against all North East football supporters it is very unfair that while fans of London and south east based clubs will be able to pop round the corner to watch games, North East fans will face a 500 or 600-mile round trip. In the future all England matches, and important club games will be played at the new ground. Once again the interests of the people of London and the Southeast are looked after at the expense of people here. There is no reason why people of this region should support England in future. As someone else said previously the team should change its name to “London United” it would be more accurate.

I worry that the club seems to go from one panic buy to another and there is no long term planning.

I hope that we are going to get someone who can strenghten the team and not just the usual last minute panic buy , but I have my doubts. Huth and Graveson would have been good for us but we have dithered while Boro and Celtic were more decisive. I hope this indiciseveness is not going to be typical of Roeder.

Englands Michael Owen should get the FA to pay his insurance premiums.

I don't think Nobby is the player he was even a couple of years ago. With the players you mentioned his chances are going to be limited and I think he knows that.
