I think Arsenal's ground will be called The Emirates Stadium.
-
For the record, I don't seriously think we'll get Bruce - but I do think Fat Fred would appoint him ahead of a foreign manager.
-
The real name's Zuberbühler.
-
It did look nasty. I'm sure Smooth Operator liked the way he humped the ground though.

I've put about £45 at 4/1 on Basel to beat Boro over two legs.
-
I spoke to a couple of Boro fans today. The world's largest watches and jewellery show started in Basel today - it's absolutely impossible to get a hotel room in or around the town at that time of the year. Apparently more than 400 of them weren't aware of that and arrived in Basel last night. Needless to say the couple I spoke to were absolutely knackered!

Great minds... It's looking good for my bet!

2-0 to Basel at half-time

Norn Ireland is international? Like said before Oliver is Shepherd's mouthpiece and I do find it ignorant that he is ignoring the foreign contingent' date=' but there's fuck all we can do about it. If not O'Neill it will be a yes man that will hold the fort until Shepherd's blue eyed boy takes over. [right']112581 No, what I was trying to say is that O'Neill at least has a track record of some sort, unlike most of the other British managers around.
-
Exactly. No-one would talk about him if he wasn't English. He's done nothing this season to justify the hype. Having said that, it's not Pearce's fault that he gets hyped up by the media. I've always liked him as a player and he seems like a good bloke, but the praise he receives is over the top.

Oliver is a xenophobic wanker of the highest order. It's quite embarrassing when you think that his comments on Souness' appointment were along the lines of "He's the best British manager around, Chelsea wanted him" - yeah, right. And now he does it again and tries to promote British no-marks ahead of proven international managers (O'Neill excluded). As Alex said though, he's Shepherd's mouthpiece and thus represents Shepherd's views. I still think there is no chance of the useless fat man appointing a foreign manager. He'll go for the likes of Bruce and Curbishley before he even considers a foreigner, no matter what he says in the papers. And basically, that says it all - Shepherd hasn't got a clue and isn't fit to manage a multi-million pound football club. I'd rather we tried someone like Martin Jol before we went for one of the useless British managers. It's frightening to look at how the media are wanking over Pearce, whose team are 12th in the league, when someone like Jol is on course to finish in a Champions League spot. If Jol was English, they would never stop talking about him.

Hitzfeld is still and without a doubt the better manager and my favourite choice IMO. It's just that we're not going to get him, so O'Neill is fine with me.
-
Probier lieber ne richtige Weisswurst!
-
I've changed my mind slightly about O'Neill. He may be overrated, but I'd be very happy if we got him.

I'm half English and I want England to do well in Germany, but that doesn't mean that Owen's behaviour and attitude are acceptable. He's blatantly taking the piss with his comments and I'm sick of reading about his plans for the World Cup. It's perfectly understandable for him to want to play in a World Cup, but I just wish he would stop banging on about it in a way that is disrespectful to his employers who pay him in excess of £100,000 a week. Comments like "The injury didn't come at the worst time" (yes, it did for the people who pay your wages) and "I was down until I realised that there are still 11 weeks until the World Cup starts" are disrespectful to Newcastle United. If Owen wasn't English, people would call him worse than a disinterested mercenary.
-
Owen said: "I have to admit I was a bit down when the surgeon rang last week to say he was advising me to go back into hospital. "But it was my brother who pointed out that there are still 11 weeks until the World Cup starts.

I don't think the ban is ridiculous at all and I wish Switzerland wasn't as backward. I absolutely hate going out for a few pints and coming back stinking like a fireplace.
-
It's getting to the stage where I just want it sorted out. I'm not O'Neill's biggest fan and I think he's overrated, but I'd be happy if he was appointed tomorrow. We need to bring in a manager, end the uncertainty and start rebuilding now. I guess it all depends on who the bloody FA want as England manager though.
-
On a different note, I've noticed Man City are 11th - they are on 40 points compared to our 39 points, which could become 42 if we beat Charlton tomorrow. What exactly has Stuart Pearce done this season, apart from giving good interviews?
-
Season's over tbh.
-
Nice sig. Great lyrics, great song.
-
The fact that Blackburn are in the running for 4th place makes it even worse. If Souness was still manager, it would be even more embarrassing.
-
Bellamy has made it 3-2. I'm not one of those who are still obsessed with him, but I have to say I'm gutted he doesn't play for us anymore. Cheers, Graeme.
