1. I've put £50 on Basel. They're a good team and although they haven't been on fire in Europe this season, I'm quite sure they'll beat the Smoggies over two legs. The UEFA Cup is definitely the most winnable competition these days, it's a shame we didn't qualify and don't look like qualifying for next year's competition either. Cheers Graeme...
2. Not Shepherd's fault though. Leazes tells me he was off sick that day, so Souness handled the contract negotiation. 106013
3. I was thinking the same, I think they changed the rules at the start of the season? Would be good for us if Alonso was suspended.
4. I think a lot of people are just tired of discussing the role of the current board with you, Leazes - I know I am. What I will say is that I would be absolutely disgusted if Terry fucking Venables was offered a job in any capacity at NUFC. He's no better than Souness, and he's a vile and dodgy character who would be an embarrassment to the club.
5. Absolute nightmare scenario. Would you still be happy with Shepherd and his cronies if that happened?
6. Add to that the statistical FACT that Americans are the fattest people in the world.
7. I can't see it happening, surely even Fat Fred must know that making Venables manager would be suicide.
8. You think? 105541 It was an exaggeration, but I certainly think that there are probably a lot more Christian fundamentalists in America than in Western Europe - one of them is even President! It's not surprising though when you consider that a lot of the early immigrants to America were extreme Protestants.
9. Would it be possible to include the flag below? Ideally, there should be flags for people with dual nationality, but the Swiss flag will do, cheers
10. What a load of shit, stop sticking up for your mate and face the fact that he's one of the most useless managers around.
11. I just hope someone will kick the living shite out of that twat Ronaldo. If there's one football player I hate, it's him.
12. When Souness was sacked, I thought Allardyce would be a good option if we couldn't get a top European coach. I have to say I've changed my mind a bit though, I don't think I'd want him now. He's still better than Curbishley/Bruce/O'Leary/McClaren/Hoddle etc., but that doesn't say much.
13. It's probably a copy of Shepherd's shortlist tbh. They're all British as well
14. Sounded like another very good performance, get in! If only we had got rid of that wanker Souness earlier...
15. Have the players already written off Owen then? Dyer, Carr, Bramble and Moore may not quite agree either...
16. I love public transport and get the train or bus whenever possible - but then again, I live in Switzerland and public transport is absolutely faultless here. The tube and buses in London are all right, too, it's just the Silverlink (or whatever they're called) trains that are an absolute shambles.
17. I agree about Owen's comments ("The injury didn't come at the worst time" - yes, it did from your employer's point of view!), and I've said it before: if he wasn't English, there's no way he'd get away with that country-before-club attitude of his. I'm still glad he's ours (if you can call it that), but I do think he owes us another season.
18. Elliott should be in the squad. Oliver gave him a 9 for his performance on Saturday - I'm sure the fact that he's a local lad and always willing to talk to Oliver had absolutely no bearing on his rating at all.
19. I don't see what the fuss regarding Pearce is all about. City are doing okay this season, but they're no better or worse than they were under Keegan (they were poor again today as well). I always loved Pearce as a player, not just when he was playing for us. He is great to listen to as well, his interviews and views on football are a fresh breath of air, and I do believe that he's got a good career ahead of him and that he would probably do quite well with England if he was given the job. But as far as his club career is concerned, I think people should wait until the end of next season before going over the top about him. Coleman for example has done just as well at Fulham, but because he isn't flavour of the month and hasn't been linked with the England job like Pearce, people don't go over the top about him.
20. Shows how much Eriksson knows. He was back talking about the need to play someone in a holding role in some matches and how he would be using Ferdinand and King to do that - why doesn't he just include someone like Parker?
