  1. Incredible. He's not only just outdone himself there, this is worse than Shepherd. Jesus wept.
  2. I hope to God this is true. He's got to be up there with the very worst signings we've made. Good riddance.
  3. Louise Taylor in the Guardian saying that Kinnear could be back as interim manager if talks with Shearer break down. Words couldn't describe it.
  4. Nadal isn't much better, mind.
  5. Sadly, I think that's pretty much spot on.

    Boston

Cheers, that would be great! I don't mind doing a few touristy things as long as they're not total rip-offs, so I think I'll do the Freedom Trail, sounds like a good way to get around the city.
  7. Not that I want Shepherd back, far from it, but he'd definitely want Shearer.
  8. This is getting worse. Not a chance Shearer will be manager now if that's true IMO.

    Boston

I'll be travelling the US and Canada for two months in summer/early autumn, starting in Boston. Any advice on where to go, where to stay and what to do? I'll be in Boston for 3-4 days.
  10. Won't be missed much when he leaves, but at least he gave us goals and will attract offers from decent clubs - unlike Smith who a lot of people on here preferred over Martins. Now there's 'fucking rubbish' for you.
  11. I can't even begin to imagine how depressing it will be if Shearer doesn't become manager now.
  12. Yes. Definitely a big worry IMO.

    Who'll stay

Beye, S. Taylor, Bassong and Martins: These players will easily find themselves a new Premiership club if they want to. There will probably be interest in Harper as well. Duff, Nolan: Will probably get offers from clubs like Blackburn, Wigan or one of the promoted sides. Coloccini, Gutierrez: Fairly certain they will be shifted to Spanish clubs IMO. It will probably be up to us to decide if we want to keep Enrique. Smith, Geremi: Absolute rubbish and on huge wages, so will be very hard to get rid of. Geremi could well decide to stay on for another year since there's no way he'll be paid anywhere near as much by any of the Turkish or Greek clubs that were supposedly interested in him last year. And as much as I like Shearer, I'm worried he may actually rate Smith.
  14. I'd love Beye to stay, but that statement doesn't mean a thing. I'm sure there will be plenty of interest in him. He's proven himself in this league and his contract is up next year, so he won't cost much. And once he has an offer from a Premiership club on the table, he will want to leave.
  15. It doesn't matter if the likes of Duff will be "good in the Championship". You simply can't afford to have average players on contracts of £70,000 p/w in that division.
  16. £10m for Martins, £4m for Duff and £4m for Barton? What a load of crap.

    Duff can fuck off.
  18. As Shearer said, they tried, they just weren't good enough. That really is one shit team. Here's hoping for a complete overhaul in the summer, that would make me feel like relegation was worthwhile. Not in the second half they didn't.
  19. The second half was so bad, it was unreal. No fight, no passion, no guts, nothing.
  20. Torino 2-3 Genoa BTW. Not a good day for you, eh. You've still got a chance though, best of luck next weekend.
  21. Same here, I'm just trying to take my mind off the football. The one good thing about being based abroad is that it's much easier to avoid the whole media circus. I'll stick to reading .com and this forum for a few weeks. And well done and thanks to the Admins for keeping this place clear of all the WUMs.
  22. Smith is fit to play though
  23. I'm dead nervous already and it's only Wednesday, FFS. Let's get it over with.
  24. I'm sick to the stomach even thinking about Sunday.
