1. Agreed and I would play Steven Taylor at right back before Stevie Carr. I know most think it will effect his progression at centre half but he isnt getting a game as it is and there is talk of a new centre half coming in.
2. you heard it here first, as usual http://z3.invisionfree.com/NUFCforum/index...?showtopic=2019 186084 I think the moaning about Bramble's and Given's hoofing antics is as old as the internet tbh. I do it every week... 186090 it was just a shameless plug for a dodgy board tbh. 186091 You think?
3. Usual shite, apart from their second goal I thought Bramble had quite a good game with some well timed important blocks.
4. Villa look very average but goals win games and without doing much they have scored two. For us we have actually knocked the ball about well at times once again but a mixture of fuck all threat up front and sloppy goals conceded.
5. One of the Spurs so called "ITKs" reckons its a done deal..
6. Nice to know JJ is settling into life outside of the Goldfish bowl and that the supporters of his"big" club really appreciate him.. Heres some Spurs supporters opinions on JJ
7. Even when he's going back on his word after retiring from international football. 185853 I don't really see the problem with him having returned to play for Peru, hes entitled to represent his country IMO I know he was meant to have said that he wouldn't play for them again, but he should never have been put under the pressure to make that decision in the first place. I'm sure we will be letting Martins play for Nigeria no questions asked...
8. I thought she was implying the demon drink got her into "master.....bation"?? Her posts with Brock certainly seemed that way..
9. 185641 Ritchie pledge 185645 Never mind fooking pledges, you`ll be paying regardless of people signing this or not... 185828 do you want me an the boys to "pay him a visit" ??? 185831 Aye if you like Hes already been told the "glasgow heavies" will be down soon..

11. Going back to Spurs according to their "alleged" ITKs
12. Nobby Solano today revisits a stage where he had top billing admitting he may be on the fringe at Newcastle at times this season. But he still has no regrets about missing out on the Martin O'Neill era at Aston Villa. Solano has accepted that, at almost 32, he will be rested regularly by Glenn Roeder in the coming nine months. Yet the winger is considering using that extra recovery time to resurrect his dormant international career. First things first though - and a Villa side and supporters transformed by O'Neill and the prospect of new owner Randy Lerner's millions from the no hopers Solano came to know during 18 months in Birmingham. "I think the new manager has given the club a lift and everyone there is starting to believe," says the popular Peruvian. "It's always going to be tough playing away from home and it will be tougher than normal at Villa this season." Solano, however, is not a certainty to start against his former club. "The manager rested me in midweek, which was fine," he says. "It's not like three or four years ago when I could play twice a week, every week and in every single game." But he insists: "I don't regret leaving Villa. I have very happy memories but it was a difficult time in some ways because of all the speculation that always surrounds the club. "There were too many rumours about what might happen to the chairman or the manager - but that's Villa for you. "Martin O'Neill was talked about as a possible manager at Newcastle and with England and it was a surprise to everyone when he got the Villa job. "There was a lot of speculation about where he would end up and who knows how he came to be at Villa? But he has made his decision and it is great for my old club. "When I was there it also didn't seem as though there was a lot of money available, but I'm sure there'll be a lot of happy players at Villa Park now the money is coming. "It's good for them but it's good for the league. It is important that the Premiership has another strong team. It makes the competition more exciting." Meanwhile, Solano will consider coming out of international retirement if Peru retain their current coach. Solano incurred the wrath of then Newcastle boss Sir Bobby Robson by jetting off to play for his country, but has not answered the call since rejoining United a year ago. "At the moment I am still retired from international football," he says. "But the new manager of Peru, Franco Navarro, is a good friend of mine. "I agree with him that we don't have enough world-class players and I will speak to him again in December. There might be a new coach by then but if Navarro stays then there is a chance I could play for my country again."
13. It's 4000 miles from Nigeria to Newcastle, but somewhere on Tyneside, Obafemi Martins has already found a little piece of Lagos . . . Look out Aston Villa, United's new boy is running on rocket fuel today - otherwise known as Mother Martins' home cooking. But "Obagoal" will be sampling similar delicacies in his homeland this week, when he reports for international duty alongside Middlesbrough striker Yakubu. "My mum lived with me in Italy and has come with me to Newcastle," says the £10 million signing from Inter (left). "She will do my cooking and cleaning! "When I left Lagos for Italy in 2000, I was just 16. It was difficult because there was nobody with me and I missed home badly for about two years. "My mum being with me means I don't get homesick any more." But the presence of Mrs Fausat Martins in the North East disguises the personal heartache which will drive "Obagoal" to succeed in the Premiership. "Losing my dad in June 2003 was a bitter pill to swallow, but I have his spirit living in me and pushing me forward," he says. "I dreamt I was going to bring him to one of Inter's games, but it was not to be. "Now I will have him with me every time I play at St James's Park." Martins will fly back to Lagos following his Premiership debut today to meet up with the Nigeria squad preparing for next Sunday's African Nations Cup qualifier against Niger. "Oba's their main striker," says United boss Glenn Roeder. "He's going back there next week to play against Niger. "I've been to Nigeria and you've got to go there to realise that they're fantatical about football; absolutely fanatical." But it is Martins' decision to pass up the chance of Champions League football elsewhere to inherit the No 9 shirt at Newcastle (below) which will shock some. "Valencia in Spain wanted me, but I didn't want to go there.," he says. "My dream was to play in the Premiership, and Newcastle are a big team. "I believe I can achieve a lot at Newcastle - more than at Valencia." And that has come as a massive relief to Roeder, who admits he gambled everything on persuading his top target to choose the Premiership over La Liga or Serie A. "He's the man I wanted and he was the man I was going to get," the manager insists. "But it's gone all the way until a week before the window closes and, I have to be honest, if Inter had said there was absolutely no chance of signing Oba there wouldn't have been any alternatives. "Because I hadn't considered anybody else, we would have been in a difficult situation. "However, I was determined to get the player I wanted - and I'm sure he will prove worth the wait." But will Martins be thrown into the fray from the off at Villa? "I'm not going to let Martin O'Neill know what I'm thinking. "You and Oba will just have to wait and see."
14. Glenn Roeder is looking for a loan ranger to boost Newcastle's attacking options ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline. Despite the £10 million capture of Obafemi Martins, Roeder feels the United squad is still a striker short. And so while he pursues defenders Wayne Bridge and Robert Huth and midfielder Thomas Gravesen, another forward is also on Roeder's radar. "We have Oba, Shola Ameobi and Albert Luque. Ideally, we'd want a fourth striker - someone as back up," said the United boss. "It's not comfortable going into a season with just three strikers. "So if there's a possibility to find a fourth striker, maybe on a year's loan, I would look at that seriously." Meanwhile, crocked Newcastle striker Michael Owen will be boosted during his rehabilitation from injury by an invite to every England get-together from new national coach Steve McClaren. The former Middlesbrough boss is aiming to build a "club England", in which the national side will boast the same team spirit as a Premiership outfit. And Owen, although guaranteed to be sidelined for most, if not all, of the coming season, will be invited to be a part of it.

19. Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder is backing Turkish midfielder Emre to star in his second season at St James' Park. The 25-year-old was hampered by niggling injuries after completing his £4m move from Inter Milan last summer, but has already demonstrated his quality with an excellent start to the new campaign. Emre and his team-mates will run out at Aston Villa tomorrow looking to extend their unbeaten run to 13 games, and with the diminutive midfielder rapidly emerging as a crowd favourite. Roeder said: "He should be. He's a player of high quality. "He was at Inter Milan the best part of four seasons - they do not keep players for four seasons if they are not good. "If they find out they are not good players, they shift them on very quickly. The fact that he was there for four seasons tells its own story. "He has had a good pre-season, which he did not really have last year as it was interrupted with minor injuries. "But he has not had anything like that this year. He's getting fitter game by game, and I'm expecting - and he's expecting of himself - a successful season." With new signing Obafemi Martins set to make his debut tomorrow, Roeder is hopeful of strengthening the squad further before Thursday's transfer deadline. Roeder said: "Rome was not built in a day but it's important that during this season, everyone sees progress from the team in the results we have and the performances we have. "We are working hard behind the scenes and hopefully, we will be able to add another couple of players before next Thursday." Shay Given is likely to return tomorrow after resting a back injury on Thursday night but Shola Ameobi and Craig Moore remain doubts with hip and hamstring and knee problems respectively.
