  1. I would love to see Carver chin that worky cheating cunt.
  2. If all you want is some fucker who wins the odd header we may as well stop laughing at the Mackems and sign Kevin Davies.
  3. So if the four have become six and we could only ever get as high as fifth in that sense with the right approach how do you think we can improve on that now?
  4. Went to Brighton. Others were before my time. The point is if you try and make out that its black and white between the regimes I'm going to point out they both pulled the same shit at various times. Windows with no money spent, players bought and sold behind backs and pissing on the fans on various issues were/are all too common to both.
  5. you have to actually go to games to understand this point of view. Which proves you didn't go to Leeds the two or three times we only took the corner allocation about fifteen years ago.
  6. Sod's law says one or both will get injured in the dead game....
  7. Of course I've just realised they would have still had to play the third game so it would have been Blackburn.
  8. Fuck - two minutes away from getting the fuckers back for Saturday.
  9. Keegan left because they stopped backing him.
  10. They never spent a penny of their own money. When there was no longer any spare cash because of high wages and low positions they borrowed and strangled the club with debt. When that failed they cut and ran.
  11. I remortgaged last year and the solicitor was just as bad as the two mentioned. I ended up chasing the loan companies I was paying off myself in the end. Even then when they had all the docs the lass said she "might" be able to process it in a couple of days. I spoke to the boss and hit him with a good rant and had the money in my account 20 minutes later.
  12. My view was that David Milliband would have been too tainted by his membership of the government to do well now. I think as others have said Ed is a Hague/Duncan-Smith/Howard type character who will probably lose next time leaving David to take over - at least that's probably his plan.
  13. I think that on the issue of where people live there is a case for stopping claimants moving to an area with high rents but forcing people out who had moved there when they could afford it is a bit much. Of course the lack of social housing underpins this as well but that's been a failing for decades now.
  14. Well if that is all they're getting then no one will be too badly affected by the £26k cap then. 500 pw sounds alright but if they pay 400 pw rent (feasible in London) it becomes a struggle.
  15. My cold light of day thought is that maybe we would have been better off if Santon had been red-carded in the first half - he would proibably then have brought Perch and Gosling on for Shola and probably HBA but I think we would have sat deeper and maybe sneaked it.
  16. Because those people generally haul themelves off benefits as soon as possible as they've too much pride to scrounge, they just need a buffer for the time being. So nobody mentions them, because they're not the issue In the past yes - thing about recessions is that people need longer buffers. Don't get me wrong, I've argued before about responsible family planning which is a factor as well and I do think to an extent that people thinking they have a right to live in Westminster is stupid but in the scale of things this is small beer - it certainly isn't "why the country is fucked" as LM and others put it. The country is semi-fucked because of wealth inequality and pissing about with 270m in order to stir the Mail readership isn't going to change that.
  17. I agree on that point - so why doesn't nobody ever mention the people who are doing fine and then find themselves out of work in a recession - as I said how long is it before they count as "scum" and have to give up their benefits? The generations of scroungers is an issue which needs to be addressed but scapegoating everyone isn't the answer.
  18. The drop off in Labour support is almost all down to their new stance on cuts - folk are very fucking daft.
  19. This is where the Tories laugh their cocks off at how fucking stupid people are in this country. It looks like you've all bought into the idea that EVERY benefit claimant has never worked - scapegoating at its very best. How long should a family where the bread winners get after losing their jobs before they get purged? - 3 months, 6 months a year? Should they have to give up their possessions as soon as the p45 hits the mat? Unless you can give me some figures that show that the majority of benefit claimants, whether affected by this or not, have never worked or been in the same situation for years then I sincerely hope you never have to face it yourselves. Of course everyone knows the family who've never worked who has a house full of plasmas - I'm not saying they don't exist but do you really think its a fucking doddle? BTW 26k does sound a lot and instinctively I'd agree its too much but if you include housing benefit in the South East I'd imagine it leaves precious little once everything else is taken into account - why do you think they can't fill jobs for that amount? The saving from this is supposedly 270m - four and half new fucking royal yachts and about 10% of what most individual banks will be paying in bonuses - but the cunts have got you hating the scoungers - as I said laughing their cocks off.
  20. In fairness Labour tried the "we wouldnt cut that" line for the last 18 months and the general public, while watching the rest of the world collapse, didnt buy it. As much as nobody likes it, the majority still accept this sort of thing has to be done. Of course the Labour big wigs now realise this but unfortunately it is all too late to save Ed or for that matter balls imo. When parties have been in a while in takes them a long time to really accept loss of office. The first few years are always a put out sort of huff. No way were Labour ever likely to recover quickly and they should have played the long game instead. The problem they now have is how they swap Millibands, tactfully. Anyway, nice to hear from you again. Have you been to see the Iron Lady yet? the austerity shit is destroying europe which is holding the uk back further - it's a disaster. you're probably right on the mourning period but at the very least they should be standing up for those being shit on by the cunts. there will be enough attempted rewrites of history when the bitch dies - I don't see the point in a preview.
  21. As is retaining possession, winning a header or passing to a teammate. Staying onside, hitting the target or battling for a ball. I still don't get the mild affection people hold for this bloke - he's fucking shit and one half decent game once every 3 months should not merit a career. I've said before it's completely telling that the only good manager we've had in recent history saw straight through him and attempted to ship him out. I read someone on N-O saying that this run of games was the time for him to step up both for his own benefit and that of the club - surprise, surprise he's failed miserably.
  22. Up until yesterday I think we'd got away with Williamson coming back. I hope the result at least stengthens the will to get someone in.
  23. Accepting the cuts with a whimper means there's no point to being opposition imo - there is a lot of anger out there which will build as more things close so not at least showing empathy is madness. Two things are needed - a new leader and a law that anyone like CT who thinks the current mess was wholly down to the last government should be banned from voting (or just shot).
