1. No it begins with A - Arrogance based on history.
2. Thats the way I see it - the top 4 SHOULD be those 4 and if we're lucky/do well/they falter then 4th or 3rd is possible. It would be possible imo to break into that if we could get a Wenger/Morinho/Ferguson/Benitez calibre of manager and therein lies the crux. I think Bobby and possibly Souness (just) are good enough to get that 5th/possible higher but thats our lot at the moment.
3. I don't see how anyone could argue with, or be surprised by, him being sacked if we don't qualify for Europe (which I think is achievable). Its the "sack him now" and get another similar level manager that I think is daft. Incidentally I saw one of the tabloids had a "Hitzfeld for Man U" story on Saturday - echoing my view that thats where he'll end up.
4. Have you mathematicians taken into account the 3 games before £28m was spent? 69477 Of course But come on! No club (with the exception of Chelsea, who are in a league of their own) has spent more money on new players in the last year than we have. Are shit performances and 10th place a fair return on investment? 69480 No but I think absences have been a factor (though too easily stated as well). We need a run with the best 11/12 out to properly judge imo though I accept that the squad should be better.

6. Thats my view - I'm a "give him time" man but the performances have made me lean towards the out camp (though still not enthused by any alternatives). I think people are overstating West Ham from Saturday. I thought we deserved it quite comfortably.
7. There were people behind me at the match on Saturday singing "Souness out" when we were 3-1 up. But of course they see the big picture don't they.
8. Thats what annoyed me about that case at Charlton with Man U over the alleged sexual assault where banning was talked of. For "All muslims are terrorist" read "All football fans are rapists".
9. You're a fucking idiot. 68668 you must be a fucking naive stupid clown 68867 So what do you want LM? Should the mosque where the london bombers went be closed? Should all pubs where fights break out be closed?

basically correct, strange of you to have a go at decision makers, when normally you turn a blind eye to changing "the system", however you still miss the point that millions of pounds of our money is given to people who are coming here just for that very purpose with no intention of adapting their life to integrate into the community which has given them a new home, stopping this for some reason isnt' part of your solution but it would very much be part of mine, and I suspect, others too. 68866 According tyo the CBI more than 97% of immigrants have jobs - maybe these workshy scum could teach a few people in the North East a lesson?
11. I tend to agree with Peasepud but once again I see different rules for fear of offence to the un-offendable (all religions). They talk about "criminalising" groups with no wrong-doing but that is what has always happened to football fans both in the past and still happens now.
12. They'll always remind me of 95/96 and what might have been - we always seemed to have their album on in the car on the way to away games. See also (Whats the Story) for the same reason. (That doesn't mean I now hate them btw)
13. He didn't say that when he joined though. At the beginning he said that it was an excellent group of players that didn't need wholesale changes. He won his first 6-7 games in charge against piss-poor opposition, but when the going got tough, he suddenly changed his tune and started blaming the previous management and the squad. But I guess that's just what we've come to expect from Souness - excuses, excuses and more excuses. 66821 I would say it took a while for the disruptive elements to chance their arm though I do accept the thrust of what you say regarding results/excuses..

15. From the outside looking in he was right in what he said when he joined. The remarks in the People are also fair enough (if accurate) imo.
16. I think you can recognise Keegan's "success" for us as well as admitting his failings - and there were a few which have been evident elsewhere since. However his ending at Man City would suggest to me that talk of a comeback is complete bollocks and is simple nostalgia like you have for an ex-girlfriend/boyfriend where you're sure the old "magic" can be regained.
17. "Got rid of flair players" makes it sound like an extensive clearout. One player who couldn't be arsed too many times and one who would have left when Owen was signed. Mass clearout.
18. I think Keegan's vindictive sale of Barry Venison was a lot lower than Souness' sale of Bellamy.
19. Good point Craig but the reply will be "Keegan wouldn't have been stupid enough to have substituted him. Ever.". You can't win against the Bellamy is God/Souness is Satan crowd.

He looked good for the most part against the Mackems but generally I'd agree.
21. Its a shame Christianity is so fractured as it would be good if she could get a universal "Christian of the year" award for actually demonstrating what it should be all about and shaming millions of them.
22. Won a few trophies in Scotland when the rivals were struggling and a league cup in England - hmm - sounds familiar. I've always disliked O'Neill - i think he's what I call a football murderer in how he plays the game. This can be effective but I don't think it would "suit" Newcastle. The same apllies to Allardyce. Another point I'd make is that the "Geordie nation" posts claiming Freddie will favour Shearer ignore the fact that the last shortlist consisted of Irishmen, Scots and Mancs. That doesn't mean he'll go foreign of course but I think the Shearer case is overstated.
23. I'd add 5 years to Barton's sentence for owning an Ice Pick.
24. Playing Devil's advocate for a second, Dalglish did alright in similarish circumstances. 63283 But didn't Dalglish simply maintain the high success of the Paisley/Fagan era, and then quit as the inertia of that success ran out ? 63284 I think Fagan had had a "fallow" season which prompted him to step down but in general they were still the top boys. Its also true he still had Paisley/Fagan/Evans to "assist".
25. Playing Devil's advocate for a second, Dalglish did alright in similarish circumstances.
