I've just had to battle through my last Steuererklärung (numerous annexes, copies of British wage slips and all) for the sake of the six whole weeks I worked as a Selbständiger at the start of 2006. Johnny Vaughan came back from his holidays and was ranting about the Germans playing "Loudball" around the pool.
