Stopping the club from operating normally to bring in income reduces the likelihood of c) and therefore jeopardises a), I would have thought. I looked at it from the perspective that the UK Government didn’t do any of this with CFC in mind or forcing a sale, instead they wanted to cease all income generation by Abramovich from the UK by freezing all of his assets to punish him with the issues happening to Chelsea being an unintended consequence. I think that your second paragraph kind of supports the view that the UK governments intention is to do what I’m saying rather than force a sale. I’ve seen Chelsea fans saying they’re bankrupting CFC to force a sale and pocket the proceeds, but who are they forcing in this situation? In that scenario they’re simply reducing any sale price which is surely counter intuitive. It was reported on SSN earlier that it's believed they may have paid for all scheduled travel/stayovers up front at the start of the season but it hadn't been confirmed.
