Guest Insider Posted February 23, 2010 Share Posted February 23, 2010 I've done a canny bit of research of the last couple of days and from waht I can tell the only real flaws is the camera being a bit shaky and not having a flash (neither has the iphone). Theres around 80 reviews on the gadget show site and I would say 95% are very positive with a lot claiming it to be real contender if not better in some areas than the iphone, and you know how people suck themselves off over that. I've got unlimited internet usage (500mb), 900 minutes any time and unlimited texts for £30 a month which pisses all over any of the contracts the iphone offers, the insurance alone was £12 on the iphone. Still waiting on my insurance i get on my phone from my bank account to get back to me to sort the N96, anyone claimed for their phone through insurance via their bank? Wondering whether they'll get me to send it off to vodafone to see if it can be fixed or back to Nokia given its within its 24 month warrenty. True but I'd still need a mobile phone, so even a shite phone on a crap contract would cost me upwards of £20 a month... so then you're down to a saving of £300 which is still decent admitedly. However I travel a lot for work so inbetween appointments my phone is a god send as it keeps me occupied. Still my plan is to stick with the phone I have once my contract is up and get them to drop the monthly price to £20 if I dont take an upgrade. Indeed, but you get what you pay for. Everyone I know who's bought an "Iphone Equivalent" has been massively disappointed, so i'd rather pay the extra and have a phone that does everything its supposed to. The way i look at it its an Iphone for £45 or just get a normal bog standard phone that isn't pretending to be an Iphone and failing miserably for as cheap as possible. Struggling with having a touch phone though. text messages/emails are a bit fun at the moment. Only downside so far is I don't like the inbuilt Facebook app and the battery life seems a bit rubbish. You can call it fanboyism all you like but what its actuall called is "fact". Interface wise there's not a single phone that can hold a candle to it. All the other manufacturers are trying to play catch up and failing. Like I say I know people with iphone equivalents and not one single one is particularly happy with them. I dont know one single person who isn't completely satisfied with their iphone. There's a saying that the original is always the best, and in this case that stands true. Everyone I know who has an equivanlent has problems with unresponsive touch screens, crap connectivity, crashing, apps that brick the phone, and many other issues.
