After years of badgering me dad to part with his vinyl collection, he's finally caved in.

However, I don't have anything to play them on.

Can anyone recommend me a half-decent record player?

Have a look at a Thorens turntables Jonny, german precision engineering and all that. Depends what you want, Denon do perfectly adequate models at low prices.

If you want to convert the vinyl into digital then get a USB one, if you want to scratch them, high torque vestax of technics :(

You need to think about cartridges too, get Ortofons.

I haven't got as many as that, but I'm going to try and flog what I can.

Right, I've managed to acquire some of me dad's vinyl. I'm going to go back and get more like, as he couldn't find them all.

He's also let me have an old record player of his, which will do the job for now until I get my setup sorted.

The pick of the bunch for me, had to be this. I was awestruck by the fact he actually had it.

I have got about 600 albums nearly all of them are late 70's funk and soul imports.

Class. I love a bit of funk music.

Eddie Hazel is probably my favourite guitarist.
