I'd put Pav ahead of Shaka like, Brock. For NUFC.

Always figured Shaka for the better keeper tbh, although obviously Pav was KK's #1 to begin with.

What do I know though, one of my favourite ever toon players was Viana. :blush2:

Both good shot stoppers, not great at commanding their area. Pav was fantastic on the deck though, i.e. playing the ball with his feet. I remember one save from Shaka though (can't remember the opposition but I think it was a league game where he somehow got a touch on it and pushed it onto the bar). Almost Gordon Banks-esque tbh.

Think the candidates for ten worst imports is a much wider field.

The keeper talk reminds me of Lionel Perez. :(

John Karelse

Gullit had Shay and Harper at the club at the time too.

HF getting jip for all his hard work.

It's a cut and paste job that I din't agree with myself

Trying to keep my posts non-confrontational for now, despite TP's attempts to resurrect the MA argument ;)

Dark forces are at work in match threads apparently.

I got his autograph. He looked genuinely surprised that I knew who he was.

wouldn't disagree with any of those, apart from Arsprilla. Waste of space.

Are you in the 'cost us the title' camp mate?

no, I just think his attitude was poor and his overall return of good games was worse than that.

We didn't win that title for a few reasons IMO, other than Tino, but that's another thread on its own.

If you're still out there Leazes what was Benny Arentoft like?.....one of the 10 best?......

Benny was OK, not great, but a good pro - and a nice bloke too - nowhere near a Tiote or the others on that list but a good member of that team. Thing is, the team at the time, was deliberately set up the way it was. Joe Harvey capitalised on Wyn Davies and played a long ball game, and he put 2 players in midfield who ran all day from box to box ie Benny and Tommy Gibb, with 2 wide men who did the same thing. It was a 4-4-2 system that was well put together and suited the players involved.

Still no love for Clarence Acuna, I see :(

underrated iyam....that game v Arsenal when him and Jamie Mclen(?) more than put it up to Viera and Gilberto. Wtf happend to Mclen?....he once lit a cigar with a 20 pound note in High Pit club in Cramlington....various retired miners struggling on shite pensions and with horrible lung diseses remained disticntly unimpressed.

Clarence got the winner at White Hart Lane and we met one of his mates from Chile that night...Alex, lives in Watford. Was hanging out of a very slutty married woman for a while iirc...just in case you were wondering...
