Howmanheyman 38116
The whelm is definitely on the underside. Whatever happens from now on we're never getting stripes back on the back which is frankly a fucking disgrace but uefa have made it so, so any team with European ambitions either gets on board or has a a domestic shirt and a European version. TBH as much as I'd want stripes on the back, it's never been easy to decipher the numbers from any sort of distance. It should be no more than a plain square big enough to just accommodate the number though - the whole back being a plain colour is shit.

I agree about the square but the fucks given about people struggling to make out the name and number? This is where your sky fans come into it, never bothered anyone years ago till the squad name/number thing came about. If Paul Goddard was through on goal I wasn't in any doubt it was Paul Goddard or whoever for the opposition, and if it was someone you didn't know from another side a quick 'who scored for them?' would give you an answer from some random fan.
Craig 7481
Paul Goddard had a white square under his number 9 tbf (2nd season)
Gemmill 52861
I don't think it's just a UEFA thing. It's because every single match is televised these days though, so the white background for a number makes sense for the millions watching worldwide, which trumps the 50 odd thousand watching in the ground. Point is you knew who it was and any commentator worth his salt would too. I don't know, the square patches were player issue only and there lies the problem because kids will want names and numbers on their shirts as well so an inbuilt square would be a better option but if you want a shirt you either get a number or walk around with a blank patch on your back, (loads do and I just don't get why they would?)
Howmanheyman 38116
Looks like toffs has bitten the bullet. Went on to their website and there's a banner saying 'Stock Clearance up to 75% Off everything and FREE UK Shipping on orders over £50' but when you click on any team it's just blank. (They lost the NUFC deal a few years ago).
Craig 7481
That's a shame. They definitely were the first to go into that market but clubs themselves and more recently, mass production online stores from the far east have consumed the market space. They were based in the North East IIRC so I suppose when the NUFC deal was lost (presumably another Ashley masterpiece), the writing was on the wall.

Craig 7481
I'm sorely tempted to get one of these. It'll be fake as fuck but as near as damn it to one of the best NUFC shirts ever produced. Tom 14330
Tbh the fake ones are class quality. It you wanted a real one you’d have pay at least 10 x the amount I suppose.

You can find in excellent condition all over Ebay/Vinted etc, sometimes even new. The Score Draw ones are more common & basically the same. It’s a shame the club priced Toffs out of it and nobody has stepped up to replace them.

Have you got one Tom? I don't necessarily mean that shirt, but one of the fake ones. The Score Draw stuff niggles me that they omit the manufacturing logo - I realise it's a licencing issue but I'd rather get the real fake shit that don't care if they get sued by the likes of Umbro.
