David Kelly 1216
Think we had the measure of him the last few times we played against him. Wasn't he always out LBW against us? He was certainly a hell of a lot better than the players they have playing now.
Dr Gloom 21756
good ODI player. unconvincing in tests, particularly in England, where he became a walking LBW wicket and a figure of fun for the barmy army to mock. that's before they'd even started on him for being shit scared of ghosts at lumley castle

Think he had bags of talent but should've had a settled batting position and probably bowled a bit more. Although he looked like he fucking hated bowling. Dr Gloom 21756
yeah, he always looked what you'd call a reluctant bowler. and he was massively injury prone, which didn't help him, and which you wouldn't expect looking at the way he was built

He was canny shite in 2015 though, and I think, along with a few others, his head had gone.

Tooj 17
Aye, playing across the line. Think he had bags of talent but should've had a settled batting position and probably bowled a bit more. Although he looked like he fucking hated bowling. It probably didn't help him as well that him and Clarke detested each other (sounds like a lot feel that way about Clarke) so he was never truly motivated. Alex 34717
Aye, Clarke seems to have made plenty enemies down the years, to put it mildly.

David Kelly 1216
If this pitch goes the way they think we're going to struggle to get anywhere near them this match. It was a big moment Rashid dropping Kholi. Think Cook has made a couple of iffy decisions starting Ansari with the spin and not having a better fielder in Rashid's position. Dr Gloom 21756
should anderson have been recalled at the expense of woakes?
Alex 34717
I think Woakes was a slight injury doubt (knee)
David Kelly 1216
Aye they said he was struggling. I think they were also thinking Anderson wouldn't have to bowl that much on this pitch so it's not a bad way to ease him in.
David Kelly 1216
And he's got a couple of Wickets now so it doesn't look like a bad decision. Really needed that.

Alex 34717
I hope so, given the alternative at this point.
David Kelly 1216
I think it will get harder and harder to score and not lose wickets on this pitch. I don't think it will hold up like Rajkot. I think you're right about the alternative Alex.
David Kelly 1216
Very much India's day and in particularly Kholi's. That third Wicket for Anderson lifts us a bit. I think we should have took the new ball a bit earlier though. Desperately need a quick breakthrough against these two in the morning.
Dr Gloom 21756
the spinners failed to impress, according to vaughny. too many short balls and full tosses and none of them able to tie up an end. only 2 maidens between the three of them says it all
David Kelly 1216
Aye the spinners definitely weren't as good as in Rajkot. It was starting to turn a bit and reverse by the end though so hopefully we can make use of it in the morning. I doubt this one is going to end in a draw. How Murali and Warne both averaged in the 40s there (Murali's was the worse of the two). Edit: looked it up and Warne's was 43.12 and Muralitharan's was 45.45 Edited November 17, 2016 by Alex
Dr Gloom 21756
why is that, did he say? they have a reputation for producing wickets that assist turn, but on all the recent tours i can recall they have tended to produce featherbed pitches that result in high scoring, boring test matches
