President Biden

Might like to wee on people, seems more important than the video/audio of him admitting to sexual assault.

Is mad at buzzfeed for their "witch-hunt", seems to have forgotten about the birther movement he supported.

Lacks ability to comprehend irony. Sad.

Buzzfeed are getting a lot of flak for posting the document, despite the fact it was posted with the clear marker of being unsubstantiated and containing obvious errors.

Think they're absolutely in the right personally, they've got a document that was at that time making its way around the highest ranked intelligence offices in the country, CNN had reported on it but not shown content, it's absolutely in the public interest to see this.

I'd agree, it'd be hard to argue that it isn't in the public interest to know what another state has on the leader of your country. While it may be embarrassing for Trump, the risk of him being blackmailed is substantial.

i'm sure that looks perfectly acceptable behaviour compared to the depraved shit he gets up to behind closed doors.

the next four years aren't going to be short of this sort of story are they? he hasn't even been sworn in yet. still, if we can have a pig head fucking pm, why not?

I'm still not 100% sure he's going to be sworn in, you know... this all has the look of a possible attempt to derail it.

Apart from being bizarre, it's not actually that big a deal though. It's not like he killed someone.

The big deal is the publishing of "unsubstantiated, unverified allegations" as news.

The preponderance of fake news at shit holes like buzz feed or Huffington post or whatever shouldn't be as alarming as it is.  People who confuse those unethical traffic generators with actual news should be few and far between and were already too idiotic to worry about.

But the New York Times and Washington Poist are doing the same thing.  Organisations that had some basic standards aren't wasting any time looking for any evidence to support their claims that Trump is a Russian Manchurian Candidate, or that the left wing media has been infiltrated by Russian propagandists.  They just whack it out there and quote anonymous sources.  The Guardian recently made up complete falsehoods about Assange as well.

It's leading people to distrust ANY media whatsoever.  It elevates this unverified tattle from BuzzFeed to the same level as the verified and 100% auhentic Clinton emails.

It's deligitimising the fourth (and fifth) estates who no longer have any power to provide a fact check service for what people see in their Facebook Feed.

The Russian leader having a video of the next President of the USA watching prostitutes piss on each other isn't a big deal to you?

So we're all in agreement that leaking stolen, unverified, unchecked documents to the public is bad? Glad we're back on the same page.

You sound like you're saying I've ever defended someone for doing that?

Good insight. Hadn't picked up on the 'fake news' aspect of this. Is there some suggestion that it may not be legit?

The content of the video is neither here nor there to me, it has no impact on Trump's abilities (or lack thereof), it's just a sexual preference. A weird one, but who the fuck cares.

The issue is the possibility of it being used for blackmail - but now that it's been 'outed' I think we're back in relative safety.

There's been no evidence provided to support the claims whatsoever.

The intelligence agencies are at loggerheads over their support/opposition to Trump and anonymous sources from both are popping up all over with unsubstantiated claims to deligitimise the other.  Comey says "we might have incriminating emails on Clinton" on the eve of the election... they didn't.  Now an anonymous source says Russia might have incriminating stuff on Trump... no reason to believe they do.

tbf to buzzfeed, they clearly stated at the top of the piece that the claims were unverified and there were some factual inaccuracies contained within the document, but felt they should publish it in the public interest with those caveats.
