So hopefully we'll be ok and won't need a firesale again. We'll also be raking in some significant wedge for the Swedish snake at some point. From a PSR perspective we dropped a £71 mill loss from 21/22 off the calculations this year, next cycle we drop another £68 mill loss from 22/23 and we made a £1 mill profit in 23/24 so unless this years accounts to 25 are a car crash we should be pretty sweet for PSR given we also have CL again (and the very probable Swedish windfall). If our revenue continues to grow as it has, all in all, PSR might not be the nightmare it has been for us, although we've a way to go to be able to safely/consistently satisfy top end wage demands. 🤷♂️

They should just harmonise and amalgamate all these different rules by UEFA and the different football Leagues and have one rule for all and call it the 'Cartel Tax'.

This can be increased to €90m if you can show that the club is in good financial health i.e. low debt and not missing payments. I think we'll get a slap on the wrist/small fine as we can show that our losses are decreasing and we're not racking up huge debts.

So Villa are selling academy trained players because of PL PSR?.. @Toonpack perhaps the wages/revenue isn't actually a regulation just good financial sense? ewerk 39247
The wages/revenue ratio is definitely a UEFA regulation, the football earnings cap is just in addition to this. UEFA's financial regulations are tighter than the PL's but the punishments aren't as severe.

Am I right in saying selling Isak won't help this UEFA thing because it's to do with a previous year's set of books?... So we'll likely fail that rule, seems like it's just PSR at around 50% of what the league allows. Yet more utter bollocks, but our breach won't be anywhere near the level of Villa/Chelsea so likely just a fine and shouldn't be any player trading restrictions, obviously that depends on how hard the cartel lobby UEFA because its us, of course 🙄 Edited August 18 by Toonpack

Yeah it would help us going forward but no with the three year period just gone that UEFA will be looking at. It's honestly not a worry, we'll probably have breached the €90m mark but nothing much will come of it.
Alex 42157
It’s just another way of making UEFA millions of pounds every year as the clubs only get fined for breaches

Gemmill 63250
Aye, you just get a fine. It's just another revenue stream for UEFA, as Alex says. We're not gonna be in fire sale territory. I think shifting Ramsey is more about the PL PSR rules. They have actual implications beyond a fine.

We're nowhere near the Chelsea/Villa naughty step.

Bigger breech? Aye, Villa were fined £9.5m for failing both UEFA tests. In addition to this they have to display a positive transfer balance this summer or new players signed won't be able to be registered for UEFA competitions. Chelsea got a bigger fine because they completely took the piss but I don't see as much of an effort from them to sell more than they've spent this summer.

They were fined and have additional sanctions because they blew the doors off all the rules, along with Chelsea (even worse), not just one small breech.

Chelsea have so many players, they'll register/put a CL squad together that meets the rules and have their EPL squad which doesn't give a fuck about the UEFA rules. ewerk 39247
Aye but that would mean a Champions League campaign with Jackson playing up front. I don't think Delap and Joao Pedro would be terribly impressed. Our Saudi overlords will probably nip in at the end of the window and rescue them though.

It’s obvious that here was a much better bet for development whereas Chelsea was from a financial pov. He’s now stuck there because of the wages.

No more illegal than approaching a player under contract without the permission of the club who holds his registration.
