The second one looks like one from the 80s archives. The shirt is absolutely horrific and it looks might he may have the beginnings of a Bobby Charlton comb over.

Big Nick needs to take this bloke shopping sharpish.

They probably weren't aware he would say it like that, or too polite to correct the new CEO on his first day (I haven't seen whatever you're referring to so assume he pronounced it St James and not St James's?) . In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter. I'd rather he got that wrong tham most other things.

If he can get us a few extra £100 mill's a year through the door he can call it what the fuck he wants tbh

He will, the below is the league table since Jan 2022, Even I could make a case that the team in 4th striking deals commensurate with the deals of the teams in 6th/7th/8th is fair market rate.

Pretty sure he'll be nails in such negotiations and he's known as a big hitter.

What a table btw. Especially considering Howe inherited a Steve Bruce squad with Clark, Fraser, Hendrick, Hayden, Ritchie, Manquillo, Lewis, Dummett, Lascelles et al

I thought that interview was good. I like the fact that he's basically a bit of an educational dropout that's worked his way up from the bottom at Toronto to where he is today.

Again, the proof will be in what he actually delivers but fingers crossed.

Yeah, the up from the bottom high fliers tend to be the best in my experience (by best I mean most effective) hope it holds true. Those good one's I've come across were all good listeners and I liked he mentioned listening a lot.

Watching the interview I thought it was very natural and wasn't just corporate buzzword salad, he actually paused at times and considered what he was saying and the vibe was consistent throughout. As you say fingers crossed.

Biggest test will be if he can cut through the ridiculous Saudi red tape that seems to slow EVERYTHING down. If he’s as big a hitter as it seems, can’t imagine coming in if he doesn’t have a lot of free reign to implement things as he sees fit though

The only time PIF should be involved is if/when he needs to ask them for more money, otherwise he should just be left to run the club stand alone as he see's fit, obviously he is ultimately responsible to the shareholders, but they should have fuck all to do with day to day. I'd be very surprised if when he took the job that wasn't understood/agreed. He should have a free hand hopefully.

after a few bit of digging using AI (I know)

There is no clear evidence that Hopkinson has ever dramatically increased a club’s revenue streams through sponsorships or otherwise.

  • He has a proven history of managing elite-level commercial partnerships and keeping clubs at the top of the valuation tables.

  • But neither at Real Madrid nor MSG is there a record of him turning stagnant revenues into surging ones.

i dont think it opinionates it looks for info when  asked questions

Real Madrid (2018–2020) – Global Head of Partnerships

  • Oversaw management of mega-sponsorships (Adidas, Emirates, Audi).

  • Revenues during this period were flat (~€750m) and then fell slightly with COVID.

  • Deloitte ranked Madrid #1 globally for club revenues — but this was maintaining position, not growth.

  • Evidence shows: Hopkinson kept Madrid’s commercial machine steady, but did not deliver new significant increases in revenue.

MSG Sports (New York Knicks & New York Rangers, 2020–2024) – President & COO

  • Knicks (NBA)

    • Revenue: $472m (2019) → $519m (2023), about a 10% increase in 4 years.

    • Valuation: $4.6b → $7.4b (market-driven rise, not revenue-led).

  • Rangers (NHL)

    • Revenue: ~$270m (2019) → ~$270m+ (2023), essentially flat.

    • Valuation: $1.65b → $2.65b (again, valuation inflation across the NHL).

  • Evidence shows: modest revenue growth for Knicks, flat for Rangers. Big jumps in valuations — but that’s due to market scarcity and league-wide trends, not direct revenue expansion.

they are individual deals, the ai looked at overall revenue streams over a time period not individual deals, which are a separate matter obviously

I couldn't give a flying fuck what he's done, apart from it giving an impression of the hire, it's all about what he will do as far as I'm concerned and that, only time will tell.

Why folks have to dig to find stuff to put a negative slant on everything is beyond me 🤷‍♂️

It's a tenfold increase in stadium naming rights. If your AI was providing the right answer, that would have registered as an increase in revenue.

AI ffs, real Madrid were #1 but he didn't improve on that, well fuck me, he didn't get them higher than #1, fucking hell 😂

As for the US stuff, most of that is negotiated at league level, e.g. Nike do all the kit for the NFL.

Apparently it sourced its Revenue Stream info from Forbes. And it is not ‘my ai’ it’s available to all, sometime even for free

And btw, aye I sat there cackling evilly rubbing my hands together asking that demonic AI thing to find negative shit on our new (no critique allowed) CEO.

No you daft cunt I asked it if his career history showed he could increase revenue streams, at first it said yes dramatically so I asked for specifics and ended up with what I posted above.

Jesus man
