Wilson has become worse than useless, sad that really because he's been a great servant and I wish he'd leave us in better form but it is what it is. Gordon up front, Barnes and Osula out wide whichever side Eddie prefers them (likely Barnes on the left). Osula's energy will bring something different and his size will be handy for set pieces. If it's not working bring Murphy on for Osula (assuming he's not already playing at RB).
aimaad22 5081
I hope to hell Trippier and Isak can make this. Then we can revert to the 4-5-1 and overwhelm them first half like we do at home. One of Barnes/Gordon/Murphy off the bench for second half energy alongside Miley and Osula.

Just the confidence for everyone else from having Isak and Trippier back in the side will be huge. Even more so if there is a chance of Joelinton playing too. Without Joelinton who starts in midfield along with Tonali and Bruno? In the 4-3-2-1/4-5-1/4-3-3 (whatever you want to call it)?
aimaad22 5081
Willock I suspect just because he's been starting recently. It wouldnt be like Howe to chuck Miley in now right at the end of the season in a game of this importance even thought I suspect many of us would like to see him start. He was pushing to be back in against Arsenal. Like Wilson though with a load of time on the pitch recently Willock has given no return. Agree on Miley which is who I would go with He will hold our shape better, won't turn the ball over and is a bigger presence defensively and on set pieces. Has done what's asked of him in all of his recent cameos. I suspect he won't fit with Howe's plans to go at them hard from the start, the problem I have with that is if we don't take our chances (like against Arsenal) then where does that leave us? aimaad22 5081
These lads have done the business more often than not when it counts. With a mad SJP behind them I'd back us to score a couple here. But yeah, having Trips and Isak back would be massive. Just the sort of game you need Trippier to calm everyone and run things too. thebrokendoll 11063
newcastle v everton, a must win. with all the riches on offer, the prestige of playing in the cl, the implications for recruitment and retention of players etc etc is victory more important in this one than it was on march 16th? I'd say so.

Absolutely not I'd say you were right. I think those running the club would view it differently. so the casting vote goes to those running about on the pitch over the course of the season, what do you reckon they think? Kid Dynamite 8071
The victory is more important as far as this will allow the club to make the next step to being top 4 regulars. But in the eyes of the fans, it's not even close to be as important as the first cup in my lifetime

That's essentially what I'd put him out there for but he has also scored a cracking header and a belter off his left foot in limited minutes. Scored a bullet header, a thunderbastard and has hit the post with grass cutting cunts a few times. Even if the above wasn’t true “running around a lot” is offering something way in excess of what the man with the popping tits brings to the team. ewerk 34756
I mean you'd basically be putting him in ahead of Murphy. I can't see how going three at the back for this one.

Yeah agree with this, if we're missing Isak & Joelinton I'd go with: Pope Livramento Schar Botman Burn Bruno Tonali Miley Murphy Gordon Barnes Just don't let Gordon anywhere near penalties if they happen. Should given the ball to Titanium Bonce - he'll rip the fucking net off.

But in the eyes of the fans, it's not even close to be as important as the first cup in my lifetime the cup win was massive for the mentality of the club too. it effectively ended the losers mentality that plagued the club for decades. and beating liverpool in the final showed we can get up for the big games. this is why i'm confident about beating everton on sunday. in the past i'd have been pissing my pants like CT but these players have stepped up in the important games this season and i expect them to do the same this weekend. our squad is nowhere near the fourth best in the country but our first team is class, and more importantly howe has got an unbelievable team spirit going. their heads don't drop after a bad result, they're capable of going on long winning runs, they hold on to leads after going ahead and they compete with the best sides in the league. a lot of that must be down to the atmosphere in the changing room. that's a magical thing that doesn't necessarily happen at clubs with better technical players. our players will want to keep this squad and this atmosphere together going into next season - and that means getting the job done against everton. 3
