Prove it, of course.
-
I've been largely ignoring this thread cos the whole situation is pissing me off - but then I saw that it got the "hot" label and thought maybe, just maybe, we were signing someone. Nope, just a weather forecast...
-
Difference is about 2 degrees btw North East (e.g. Newcastle) 1–5°C 13–18°C ~9°C South (e.g. London, Brighton) 3–7°C 17–23°C ~11.5°C

We are actually talking about the greatest myths in history. Alongside JFk and rubbing dock leaves on nettle stings.
-
are you trying to prove or disprove my point, i'm not sure
-
They are doing, that's what everyone's pointing out.
-
fuck me, arguing about the weather is a new low. when does the new season start again?
-
I think the only way they become viable for governance is via merge with the Tories. Which will happen one way or another, coalition at least. Cabinet will be populated by the usual suspects plus a few Reform orcs.
-
I did. And proximity to London.
-
It was fun for my late 20s/early 30s, but then I grew up and concurrently was not a millionaire.
-
you might not think it matters, but i imagine it does to some south american footballers. it can still feel like winter in april in newcastle and some players will be put off by that.
-
just in time for the site going down, yeah?
-
He's a narcissist though, just like Johnson, he'd love to be PM. He'd get someone else to do the actual governing although there is almost noone in the party up to the task of organising a village fete.
-
Wow 5 degrees wehay fuck me man, let's base a career on that
-
Aye, there's a draw to London for footballers that a lot of people don't seem to share, and therefore don't get. It's a factor we've always had to negotiate beyond, and we always will. I've heard a few mumblings that Pedro was considerably pissed off that, in his opinion, he was the backup plan should the deal for Isak not come off. If there's any truth to that then we cannot be surprised if we weren't a consideration for him this time around. Wages, as Alex said, were also a massive factor. The Elanga saga seems to have legs and both Romano & Ornstein are reporting it. More so, Forest fans seem resigned to losing him. I think this one will come off and I expect Trafford to sign next week as well.
-
London is less than 250 miles south of Newcastle. how much difference do you think that makes in the grand scheme of things?
-
I had a choice of jobs when leaving Newcastle. Inverness or Brighton. The weather was a big factor in my decision.
-
it's not a myth at all. london is usually a good 5 degrees or so warmer than newcastle all year round. i've lived in both cities. i love newcastle and i still call it home despite not living there for almost 30 years. i was never arsed about the weather when i lived there but i'm always struck by how much cooler it is whenever i go home now.
-
It’s not a myth at all. You’ll get better weather in the south.
-
He was mocked for it because he was a massive fanny rat who loved it then used it as an excuse tbh
-
Ahh the myth about the weather. You ever spent a November in Genoa (baltic), or an overnight in New York? Bollocks man it’s a few fucking degrees here and there
-
Aye, they even have a cracking bridge there too.
-
Massive wages we can’t offer in Pedro’s case
