  1. Past hour
  2. I see Robinson picked up on the fact that Sunak was using ultra-cherry picked data in his speech today. He'll select one quarter with positive stats and spin tas if it is representative of anything that matters. Nothing new there maybe, but Labour need to keep hammering this home (I think they can also extend it to the whole 14 years for greater effect too, Germany shits all over us on that measure).
  3. Also, Sunak confirming that no flights will leave to Rwanda before the election. So hundreds of millions spent on a scheme that will never be put into practice. Canny.
  4. Tobias Ellwood was on telly earlier and mentioned three possible outcomes from the election: Hung parliament Tories lose "well" Tories lose "badly" Real inspirational shit on day 1 of a campaign, and basically Vote Tory, get a Labour led coalition. What incentive is that to vote Tory. Some of them have just given up and can't even bring themselves to pretend anymore. Meanwhile Sunak is in excited chihuahua mode.
  5. As suspected. Also nice to see what a true patriot is, focussing on destroying democracy in our former colony. What a fucking gimp.
  6. Apparently he bare faced lied 5 times in that speech.
  7. Speaking of mistruths, I was at a conference in London last week where one of the keynote speakers was Margaret Heffernen - professor of Practice at the University of Bath School of Management. Part of her speech focused on planning and in particular vaccine response to an endemic. Typically they're assymetric in that by the time you create a vaccine, the endemic has passed. One of the greatest questions she said she'd heard in business was from the head of one of the pharmaceutical firms who asked "When the next endemic hits, what would we wish we'd been doing right now?" On the back of this in 2017 he became part of the creation of a funding programme to focus on the creation of vaccines for 6 known issues. The sought and received funding from the Gates Foundation and multiple nations governments. The British government declined to contribute. One of the 6 issues was Coronaviruses and in her words "thank goodness it was given what hit just 3 years later." Her wrap up line was "so the next time you hear the Tories rattle on that they were behind the biggest vaccine programme of all time, know that it's absolute fanciful Westminster bullshit. They were against it until it became a political weapon!"
  8. Has everyone watched Atlanta? It's ostensibly a half hour comedy show about a rapper and his management team in Atlanta. But as you go through the seasons they get more and more ambitious and it turns into social commentary, but always funny. I've just watched the episode where it's a mockumentary about, after the Rodney King riots, Disney appoints a black CEO who wants to make a goofy movie. He's convinced Goofy is a black bloke and he wants to tell the story of the black man in America through Goofy's eyes. Anyway strong recommend for the whole thing.
  9. Nothing wrong with an angry shag and a zuffle mate.
  10. He held down SHIFT as he pressed the DELETE key whilst chuckling menacingly to himself.
  11. Today
  12. That's really testing my stance on "never fuck a Tory".
  13. Don't worry, she'll be on OF by the 5th July.
  14. One for MF https://x.com/emilyhewertson/status/1779183667341856820/photo/1
  15. His index finger. Cheeky little stroke I reckon. Some er.... decent pics on her twitter tbf. But she's a Villa fan and a Farage fan, so she can do one.
  16. That reminds me, where is CT nowadays?
  17. Surprised at this. I would have thought the NE was a write off for them. Also after the mayorals Houchen could barely conceal his disgust at Sunak. Really local Labour should just play that clip on a loop where he admits to syphoning off funds for the NE to wealthy places in the South. That didn't get enough air time.
  18. Right, let's get Keegan back again to see whether Starmer really does deserve to be PM.
  19. Sunak on the North East today apparently. Probably tonguing Houchen's hole. Be interesting to see if they try to keep pulling the strong arm security stuff that they've done with the Sky presenter yesterday, to keep Sunak insulated.
  20. He will end up in Saudi with Steeeeeeeeeeeeeevie Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. The BBC can keep saying it’s a close race tbh. Did wonders for motivating Labour/Khan voters in London to turnout. Their complete denial of the Tories consistently polling in the low 20% range for ages and the general mood of the British public is almost Orwellian at this point though. John Curtice is one of the few decent commentators they regularly have on there. They did a piece last night where they were in Blackpool. It interviewed two blokes who were saying they weren’t sure who they’d vote for this time out (only in terms of Sunak or Starmer). Presumably this was meant to be balanced but ffs, man. Anyone not sure this time round is almost certainly a dyed in the wool Tory. Especially as they didn’t mention having any issues with Starmer (as you’d expect if they were disillusioned Labour voters).
  22. Ugghhhh the vox pops now. Straight to some market worker in Bury to talk about immigration: "The country can't take any more people!" Just fast forward us to polling day ffs.
