KEVIN KEEGAN will this week battle it out with Mike Ashley over his £10million compensation claim from Newcastle.

The former England boss is demanding the huge pay-out after he quit as Toon manager last September. Cash-strapped Newcastle, owned by Ashley, fear financial meltdown if the panel judge comes down in Keegan's favour at this week's hearing.

Toon insiders claim the evidence will be 'explosive' as both parties reveal the acrimonious splits within the club after Keegan's return for a second spell as manager.

Disastrous

The club's former executive director Dennis Wise is being lined up to take the stand on behalf of Ashley. Keegan clashed with Wise over the club's disastrous transfer policy and ended up walking out.

Now he wants the remaining three years of his £3m a year deal paid up.

Keegan is also claiming legal fees and expenses.

Former vice-president of player recruitment Tony Jiminez and director Derek Llambias are also expected to give evidence.

This could get really juicy. Wonder which court its at? / protests

Kev's perfectly entitled to it and I hope he wins.

This.

Funny thing about Keegan though is that half the fuckers who slag him off probably only started supporting Newcastle because of him :)

Wonder if people will still claim Keegan a hero when we have to sell our remaining half-decent players to pay this bottler off.

Can you explain :

* If he walked on the club how come he is seeking compensation?

* Whatever way he left the club this time around, how that is bottling it?

Sorry like, every time I hear someone call KK a bottler, I just think "sheep".

Get your own opinion man, based on actual facts.

People rarely let the facts get in the way of a good whinge about Keegan! And calling him a bottler for leaving a job where he was being fucked about and rightly walked as any decent manager with any pride would have (the likes of Fergie and Wenger made it clear they would ahve and Curbishley did at West Ham) like you say is a sheep mentality.

As for the case itself, Keegan is right, he's entitled to the pay off and he should win it legally and morally, but i hope he loses as this club can ill afford to pay out millions to anyone, even a legend like Keegan who made this club what it is...well, what is was until the last few years anyway!

Isn't Keegan countersuing? iirc Ashley was doing him for walking out so Keegan is doing him for what is effectively constructive dismissal?
