Phoenix Nights was good but I'm not sure how much of that was down to Dave Spikey and other writers due to Max and Paddy being awful. His 80's pop-culture references got tiresome after about a week and don't even get me started on that god-awful Amarillo record. The one linked above reminded me of Missy Elliott, though I suppose she's pretty original for mainstream herself. The only real comparison with this track is that the bassline is very MIA, although she's hardly mainstream. Really irks me how people have this opinion and complete prejudice that all "pop" music is crap when there are a lot of very good minds working in that field.
