(But secretly has an agreement if he plays well he’ll be allowed to leave for X next Summer) ? it would be best just to get rid of him but we were fucked without any strikers. Rock and hard place.

If he gets a pay rise, gives 100 percent every week and bangs in 30 this season then I’ll be okay with that. But it won’t happen. Even if he does change his mindset back he’ll be over analysed on every little detail. One bad game by him and there will be hell on with the fans. I just can’t see a way back for this for him with overall fan base. In a week this will hopefully all be over and we’ll have some closure one way or the other.

i suspect thats been Howe’s position for weeks as well. He has left the door slightly ajar in case it falls through but if this was a lesser name with a lesser profile and price tag he’d never kick a ball for Eddie again. its purely the situation with the lack of strikers keeping the door open.

i wonder what his reaction was when they scored the winner. My hope is he is blocked a transfer to Liverpool then is forced to go to a Saudi team after our transfer deadline. Then we sign Wissa and another striker. Massively unlikely but we can all hope.

I think he is pretty much going to Napoli. Jackson off to Bayern. The pool of players is shrinking by the minute. we could end up with a huffy Isak and Osulu til January.
