  1. Martinez was brave to play 3 in defense against a quick QPR line-up.
  2. Sadly he seems to know what he's talking about on MOTD
  3. Put it like this, when we beat the Mackems next weekend, we will be placing the nail in the coffin, and give it a solid twat! And imagine IF Wigan get a point or more from Citae.
  4. I really don't think it's been that bad. I thought our possession has been good, but could be used better. Simpson is crap - enough said. Shits himself when he gets the ball in their half. But we've been good at the back, closed players down all over the pitch. We'll get the result. Mon th Toon!
  5. Everyone's rattling on as if Sunderland as battering Chelsea. Far from it!! Own goal from a corner. Chelsea will pull it back. Mackem's haven't even had a shot on target. Relax
  6. Cabaye has looked more comfortable. Just winging the ball out wide at will. Not seem him doing it like this for a while.
  7. Also, the Ben Arfa injury chat could have been a smoke-screen from Pards. If Jol see's at 2.30 that Ben Arfa is on the team sheet - he'll shit himself. Because I doubt they've done ANY work looking at how to stop him.
  8. If he starts - nailed on win because of the boost it would give the rest of the team!!
  9. Imagine the fan's reaction on Thursday if he's named in the starting XI. Winnable game already, but I'd be ours for the taking! Back to this game - we'll get a result. 2-1 with Gouffran and Marveaux scoring.
  10. 'After just a few matches into the CFA 2007-08 season, M'Bengue was embroiled in controversy. While playing in a match against the second team of AS Monaco, he committed a dangerous foul on an opposing player. He was swiftly given a yellow card, however, after realizing the severity of the player's injury, the referee decided to send off M'Bengue. The French Football Federation responded by suspending him 13 matches, which effectively made him ineligible for play until March 2008.[4] ' Sounds like our type of player. If in doubt, chop 'em down!
  11. M'Bengue at Gatwick today, travelling up to St Jame's Park for Fulham game. Wanting to push through a move to us. http://thespectatorsview.com/2013/04/07/toulouse-defender-spotted-on-route-to-newcastle/
  12. Well we'll soon see in a matter of hours. If they beat Chelski, I may need to bring a spare pair of kegs to the derby game....
  13. I think there'll be a whole host of surprises in the summer. One of which could be new owners entirely if we're still in the Premier League.
  14. They are if we sing the roof off! We need a derby atmosphere
  15. With what attacking force? Wickham who could only score once in Championship, Graham who hasn't hit the target yet, Sessegnon/Johnson who seem to have shut down. Play that against us
  16. I tell ya, I wouldn't mind Pards dipping in for one or two of the creative players at Benfica. Some talent there to be had that would help us create chances. He'd need a war chest though
  17. I want Ben Arfa to stay at all costs! I love the unexpected - those moments when he somehow does something magical! The damage he could do if he played for an entire season in the PL for us. Problem is keeping him fit. Carroll wouldn't even pay for Ben Arfa's right leg.
  18. We'll be fine. The likes of Wickham will literally shit themselves at the level of noise produced by us lot! Cannot wait for this game. Funny though - at home derby matches, the quiet folk that never make a sound sing for 90 minutes. If they did that every match, we'd see better results at home. These lot will buckle under the pressure - Di Canio to square off with Pards before Carver comes through and knocks him out!
  19. Last night at half time, someone said Marveaux should come off for Anita. What - 5 minutes into the second half, he plays Cisse through 1-on-1 which should have made the score 1-2. He's the only creative player we have available at the moment, and the only one who seems to be able to provide for Cisse at the moment.
  20. Senegal international Ludovic Sane says he is flattered by reported interest from West Ham, Newcastle, Southampton, Everton and Wigan Athletic. "I have read that there is interest from English clubs in me and that can only be good news. Every physical and powerful player wants to play in the Premier League and I am no different. There is nothing concrete at the moment and my club Bordeaux have been great to me and have given me an opportunity," Sane, 26, is quoted in the Daily Express. If true that we're interested - nailed on that he'll sign for us, with Goufran and co able to sway him.
  21. Quoted price is £17 mil for Carroll? For that money we could go buy a striker, a winger, a central defender, and still have change for free pies for everyone on match day!
  22. We can't keep waiting for Ben Arfa to come back into the frame, for him to only play 15-20 games a season. I wish we could keep him and buy a striker (but not Carroll), but my head says they're losing patience.
  23. It paid off having Sissoko up there when he first came here, but now teams have sussed it out. I'm one who has faith in Pardew, but I'm starting to question the formation now and the use of certain players. Last season, our 442 formation worked like a charm when it was used, even when Obertan was out on the right wing. We only switched to a 433 to accommodate Ben Arfa. Why on earth have we not gone back to 442 and tried to bring some stability in? At least that way, Cisse wouldn't be so isolated all the time. Sissoko is no second striker, Cabaye is no sweeper. Tbh Sissoko would probably be an ideal swap for Tiote it the centre, got a head on him and can advance too when necessary. I know we're lacking on the striker side, but Ameobi played a fair bit last season (I remember he flicked on for Ba against Utd) and we also have Campbell. I know he's young, but I just feel we should give him a shot, and get back to the good old "big-un" and "little-un" up front. One who can head and hold a ball up and the other with bags of pace.
