Auto running a .lnk file via file browsing is interesting. Quite a lot of the non-scene torrents include a .lnk file. Microsoft have removed .lnk Shell access because of this. I wonder if that'll break desktop shortcuts Microsoft acknowledge it's existence; http://blogs.technet.com/b/mmpc/archive/20...xnet-sting.aspx ..and quietly patching the bigger issue (lnk access to Shell); http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2286198

So do I mate. This post? Theres two things need to be done to get us operating at a profit: Firstly we need to get the advertisers and corporate sponsors back on board and the only way to do that is to give them a team that their clients will want to come and see. What you have to remember is neither of those entities have any real affiliation to the club, they are using a football team as a means to get their name out to the widest audience and/or entertain potential clients. The day we were relegated a number of corporate sponsors will have moved 10 miles down the road. What sounds better to a potential multi-million pound client "today we're taking you to see the local team play Manchester United" or "today we thought we'd treat you to the wonder of Stockport". Once they've moved and got their box with the scum then its going to be hard to get them back unless the reverse happens or we make them an offer too good to refuse but while theres the threat of relegation then they'll not want the hassle. Secondly is merchandising, sales of the famous black and white stripes across the world, sales in Newcastle would not have dropped by hugely significant numbers if they had given us a shirt of the Adidas quality but as it stands some have been lost through that. Worldwide though and we've been hit heavily by the shite thats gone on. No longer are we everyones second team or the entertainers, we no longer have players the calibre of Shearer that make kids up and down the country want to replicate being them in the playground by pulling on the shirt. Same goes for abroad, its players that sell shirts to the Japanese and Africans not clubs. Man U shirts are embalzoned with Rooney (especially in Thailand ) while numerous kids in Tokyo wear LA Galaxy shirts purely for the word Beckham. Have a successful team and you sell shirts, mugs, calendars, posters, branded bog roll, you name it they'll buy it. You tie up sponsorship deals with Asian network tv to launch your own channel etc etc. Contrary to what you may think Im in no way a Shepherd lover, I danced a fucking jig the day Ashley took over and berated Leazes about it but I can clearly see the gulf between him and the current lot. Shepherd knew how to maximise the assets we had, yes it went to shit but not because of off the field business decisions. All basic common sense, unfortunately one or two people are genuinely thick as mince so are unable to see it. Do well and you earn more, great business insight. Sadly it's 10 years out of date and miles away from future trends. Arsenal just made 130m in housing http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/0fc99474-c80b-11...144feab49a.html Maybe Fred was a business pioneer after all http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/ap...ewsstory.sport3 A sceptic might say Fred + Housing + credit crunch = bad idea.

Generally you need to have two players in every position, as it makes running training sessions easier. Wingers Arfa, Routledge & Jonas, so we are short by one. At a stretch Raylor. Centre Midfield Barton/Tiote/Smith/Gosling/Guthrie So we are only one player up.

Shola is a total liability when defending corners (or in Stokes case throw ins). Nolan is physical and we'll need it. I'd also play Sol over Williams (as he was poor against Everton in the air).

Ashley winged about the stadium money being called in, players sold that were still not paid for yet, and sponsorship being spent years in advanced. all of which are valid things to moan about. Fred responded (and i have to agree) that even taking all these debts into account, £150m was cheap as the stadium alone would cost over 300m to build.

Stadium Mortgage was recalled in full post sale, around 50m. Not in Europe with a squad full of massively overpaid players. Oh aye and Fat Sam in charge.

Give combofix a try link. If it doesn't run, try renaming it. If it still doesn't run repost as you'll need to disable startup programs.

What about him backing Souness to rip apart that team, where does that fit into your bromance? I'll answer for him. Souness won the Scottish league, he was a good appointment. I think he won a league cup once too Whereas Joe Kinnear was a tip top appointment because he won, errr...... JFK was Ashley's Plan Z. Souness was Fred's Plan A.

I can see what you're saying with that but it all comes down to hindsight, its easy now to slag off the past quoting the likes of Owen as big price failures but we werent exactly moaning about it the day he signed. Was Shearer a flop? should we have not taken a gamble on him? Under your logic you would never buy any established big name players because they could fail miserably. At the same time though they could have the best years of their careers here and pay back their transfer fees ten times over. Its all a gamble but its better to take that punt than to sit with the likes of Leon Best on the teamsheet hoping that some miracle happens and he becomes a world beater. exactly While I've always slagged off the old board for their errors, signing Owen was not one of them. It showed ambition and was a risk worth taking. People often forget we got a lot of compensation from his injuries and shirt/ticket sale rose. It's easy to look at the books and see we were braking even before he came and losing money after, but he was supposed to be Shearers replacement. That being said in the same transfer window he bought in Luque and Parker, and let Bellamy, Robert, Butt and Jenas go. In Freddies head this made us a shoe in for Europe (thus Owens contract clause). In hindsight we all know this undid all of Bobbies work, but it epitomises the old boards ambition to get us back into Europe. My issue is a board should show restraint and minimise risk at all time. Hiring a manager who wants to rebuild a team is quite frankly madness. Did they interview him prior to offering him the job? The predicament we face now is while the old board were too rash with spending and the new board are too shrewd.

I thought you were outlining the way forward. I concede a lot of what you say re: the old regime. I just don't get the love for the new lot when they've made things worse through what was obviously their own doing. I do concede that the new lot have made things worse in the short-term but I'm trying not to be short-sighted about it. I don't love them. I just think their overall goal of sorting the clubs finances out is something that is needed to make a fresh start. The club had wasted too much money and had too much deadwood on the books. I never thought throwing money at the team in the state it was in would be effective. We were stuck in mediocrity with players on 100k+ p/w, without a big clearout and a temporary step backwards we'd have been stuck in the same rut. I do have concerns about their intentions once the club does become profitable, if they achieve that, but at the same time I think we'll be in a much healthier position to attract outside investors or potential buyers too. How did getting in Alan Smith, Kevin Nolan, Collocini, Gutierrez, Joey Barton, Xisco et al on big wages fit into this alleged plan? Pretty sure the only ones on big wages were signed by Mort and Fat Sam. Hence Dekka's arrival. Bassong 5k, Gutherie 5k, Milner put in a transfer request over wages, Salyor dragging his feet. I dont reckon Xisco, Nolan and Collocini are on anywhere near Smith and Barton's salary. Afra shows they are still willing to pay the going rate. But Moses not signing show we wont be bent over a barrel again.

Dick heads in charge ... he's only on loan their until January, so what the big deal. Him and Foster will be much better players when they return, it's a shame Ranger couldn't get the same experience. Ranger should be getting experience in our first team never mind anyone elses, he's as much an attacking threat as Carroll is. He's alot quicker than any of our other strikers, and that is exactly what we need at the minute. Løvenkrands?

Our debt to our owner ... Not sure why people are discussing other clubs being run badly. While there are loads of businesses that manage their debt, it's a very bad practise, especially when it costs millions to service.

Capello to quit as England Manager after Euro 2012.
Phil replied to shackbleep's topic in Newcastle Forum
Totally disagree, it empowers him as he can drop players without caring what the UK media will write as his job isn't on the line -
Why waste your time, make a complaint with OffCom and ask if they can contact O2 on your behalf. You'll have someone ring back within the hours saying sorry and kissing your arse as they get charged over a grand if OffCom decide to take up the case, even if you dont win... I got out of my Vodafone contract this way back in 2002. The gits thought it was ok to take a mast down in my area so I had no signal!

now that I will be interested in They've been out for ages and fraction of the price. If you do get one make sure you get a 1ghz version so you can upgrade in Oct. current ones are all resistive screens though arent they? Yeah, 10" capacitive Android's are due out between now and Nov. Hannspree's (Nov) and Malata (Sept/Oct). I think they'll launch with Android 3 just in time for Xmas. -
