So what would have happened i wonder if one of the Manchester clubs would have won the Europa cup and finish in the top 4? Have them being knocked out had an affect on our chances? Just intrigued....

I always thought if one of the Manchester clubs won the Europa, it would open up another league position spot as they won't be defending their title due to Champions League commitments. This effectively meant 6th place was up for grabs and if Liverpool leapfrogged us into 6th and we stay 7th, then 7th place was also up as Liverpool already have Europa League secured. Am I wrong in thinking that? Now we have to get 5th and I can't see us over taking Chelsea.

I thought we were lucky to be 2-0 up in the first half. Wolves totally dominated midfield. I had to double check that Cabaye and Tiote were back in the team. What is this latest tactic we have of giving them all the time on the ball they need and not closing them down? Last 3 or 4 games i have seen this from us and its mind boggling. Another thing I have started to notice, do all our players suddenly think they are Messi and think they can take on everyone, or have they ever heard of passing? That and hoofing it anywhere without looking is also becoming infuriating. Pardew and the team got what they deserved today.

I agree Perch did OK today. Playing along side Colo, he seemed a bit more confident. Agreed he didn't have a whole lot to do, but when he did have the ball or needed to put in a tackle or defend, he did it. Credit where its due. Not getting too excited though. Didn't Obertan have at least one decent game with us at some point?!

Agree about best, Santon and Ba having a great game. We should have finished the game off first half. It feels as bad as a loss this. The only reason Barfa isn't playing must be a fall out with Pardew. There is no logical explanation otherwise. Something has happened behind closed doors. You could see the look of amazement on Ben Arfa's face as Vidic and Sammiobi were coming on. He either needs to resolve whatever is wrong with him and Pardew or just get out of this soap opera club. Totally fair point, but if the team keep performing like this (and i'm not suggesting for one minute they do) but does that mean Ben Arfa doesn't get a start over Best? Ba obviously loves playing with Best but who knows how much better Ba could be with Ben Arfa...? I imagine Pardew knows what he is doing. I can't fault him so far to be honest, i just would love to se our main man play more often.

Are we getting any indication that Pardew will even play Barfa? Not sue what the deal is with this kid and how long he will be happy as a possible unused sub. Hissy fits a'coming I feel. General consensus is that he is one of our most talented players, yet we don't play him!
