Think some people are getting somewhat carried away. Questioning if its good business is a no-brainer - there's only 6 (7 when the Torres deal completes) transfers that have cost more in history. When you look at names such as Ronaldo, Kaka, Figo & Zidane and see Carroll up there it's utter madness and we'd be fucking nuts not to accept. Course he needs replacing but this is Ashley's chance to make good on his intentions. If he doesn't allow the money to be spent come 11pm, he's going to be in a very uncomfortable position. The need to replace him is seperate from the fact that it's fantastic business.

We gave you the opportunity to get out of jail by telling you to fuck off at £30m and still you came back for more! You're mugs rather than us being rip off merchants
-
Actually make that 6th!! Only Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Zidane, Figo and Crespo cost more! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transfer_(foo...t_transfer_fees

Ironic that a player who's talent has been showcased by fantastic delivery from the flanks is off to a club who have no wingers!

Of course it could mean that Pardew is off on a spending spree of his own. Ok, ok I'll hand those straws back...

End game. He's on his way.

Think that figure was bullshit like. £80m all in and I think there'd have been plenty buyers. I'm with you on that one. Will be interesting to see the club's take on it though given what was said. Aguero signed a contract extension at Althetico Madrid. One less that Spurs are chasing...
-
As has been tweeted, we couldn't sell the whole club for £80m 18 months ago but we're about to sell a player for almost half of that.

Gut feeling says Carroll will go today. Hope I'm wrong but I just can't see Ashley turning it down.
-
Torres has gone man.

Rumour has it that no helicopter has left Melwood today. Then again Manchester is only a short drive away

Get the feeling this one isn't over yet

I don't want us to, I just think 35m+ is a lot to turn down, IF he uses a large portion to buy a replacement. More than Barca paid for David Villa. A British transfer record for a lad who's only got half a season under his belt as a first choice striker in the top flight and one international friendly cap. It's an unbelievable offer to turn down and will go some way to convincing me of Ashley's intent if rejected. Spot on. If he sells him after all that's been said then it's all been yet another load of bollocks.

Semantics. In any language it means scum. Dress it up any way you want. Couldn't give a shit, I wouldn't want to live there, who wants to live in a place where a Mosque dominates the skyline in England? Move on then cock-head..

Someone now tweeting that Liverpool have made a bid we've accepted. Bollocks no doubt.

Caulkin Bit in bold speaks volumes to me. Why include it if you're not considering flogging him in the summer? technically, you can do the deal today but complete paperwork tomorrow...February! Indeed. They have every intention of selling him. And I bet if he does go in the summer it'll be nowhere near £30m.

I would agree, its crazy crazy money. Harks back to when Man Utd offered us £20m for Dyer and we told them to fuck off. It's mental that they're prepared to pay only £4m less for Carroll than Barcelona paid for David Villa six months ago.
