Peadophile. Stop devaluing the term. I don't think he could have been any further out of context if he'd tried! Interesting observation that 'young Kevin' plays the 'big I am' and 'man of the world'image who's seen and done anything yet the moment you start having a go at him you're suddenly referred to as a paedophile. You seriously need to stop acting like a twat you cock-munching knob end... -
Got you down to a fucking tee Kevin.....

And yet wasn't Rafa desperate to get rid of him a season before he did? Aye - as were half the Liverpool faithful. Lost respect for him because they felt he 'wasn't totally committed to the club' when in reality, he was (at the time). Fucking mugs... Not quite right SB. The previous two seasons had seen Xabi become a bit stale by his usual standards, he also had a few injuries and they weren't the best of seasons. Benitez thought Barry would be a better option with a bit more versatility, plus he was English. Alonso was the player he knew he could make the most money from so he tried to sell him. Xabi refused to go, took it personal and went on to play the best football of his life. No-one wanted him to go after that season including Benitez, but Xabi had made his mind up to go back home. He wanted to go solely because of the carry on the previous season though - he as good as admitted that. Point still stands that he was the best signing your club made for a generation. I agree the trying to sell him was what made his mind up. He's certainly one of the best. Same situation we had with Shay Given tbf

Alonso for me was the lynchpin for the whole side - yet Gerrard and (to a lesser extent) Torres always took the plaudits. I think Stevie mentioned earlier that Liverpool won the CL with Houllier's side. In the large yes it was.. but Alonso was a massive addition to that side (and Luis Garcia for that matter). Xabi Alonso by a country mile was Liverpool's best signing in the last 20 years for me.

One of the worst lagers on the face of this planet. I suspect rat's piss is more palatable.

NESV have now gone on record saying that 9 point deduction would be a deal-breaker. Can definitely see Hicks steamrollering Kop Holdings into administration just to get rid of the blokes that he feels are ripping him off with a below-standard price. He's certainly stupid, narrow minded and stubborn enough. Something that does piss me off about all this is the fact that Broughton (it seems) got written undertakings from the owners that only he had the power to change the board and that the yanks would not interfere in any reasonable sale. So why the fuck didn't the bloke who was 'conducting' our sale get similar undertakings?
