Yeah my wife requested we move to Alnmouth so I did a quick search on house under £200,000. Not a sausage! So I did searches for houses under £300,000... one came up. A 1 bedroom terraced house priced at £280,000 I think sadly I won't be moving to Alnmouth any time soon / ever. Tis a beautiful place though!

I'll have a look at those areas... might be a good option
-
Yeah i'm kind of thinking in about 5 years time so no rush... move either to the Borders, somewhere like Warkworth or Rothbury... or even possibly just outside of Edinburgh (although that's probably not realistic as both would have to find new jobs / move my business to a new area). I'll go and have a look at some point... I kind of like that it's half way between Newcastle and Edinburgh so I'd get the best of both cities without having to really 're-locate' as such on any massive scale. Sounds quite nice from what you said though... I used to live in Wallsend so a little tatty around the edges is always going to be a step up from there

In what way though? Too quiet or rough as fuck? Newcastle does nowt for me these days... all bars and clubs, takeaways and lasses pissing in the street. I want the quiet life and to get away from the city, don't really need much on my doorstep but the train links to civilization appeals with places like Berwick
-
So that's a positive then... any negatives?
-
Thinking about the future and I'm pretty sure I want to move north and maybe as far as the Borders... anyone lived or live in Berwick and what's it like? Seems like a good option in that it's on the train line to Newcastle & Edinburgh for commuting and general travel... house prices are also cheaper than near Newcastle. Only problem is that I've never even been to Berwick before so have no idea if it's a shitty place to live Anyone been or live / lived there?

If you are getting married or know someone who is...
ajax_andy replied to ajax_andy's topic in General Chat
Haha are we talking in general or are you planning something yourself along those lines -
Aye shameless plug I know but there's probably a few on here about to take the plunge or know someone who is. If you could point anyone you know who's planning a wedding in the direction of my website I'd be extremely grateful www.andyhudsonphotography.co.uk My prices are very reasonable so it's definitely worth passing this on, or taking a look yourself. (sorry mods & admin for the spam post!)

Both are really nice shots mate... definitely seeing a huge improvement in your work! I'd say you got loads of detail in the sky which is great, but the downside is the foreground is a little underexposed as a result. If you open in photoshop and use a levels adjustment layer to boost the midtones a bit it'll look great

Haha oops missed my name on the list... thus proving I'm most definitely not in the quality posting camp at all

I didn't make the top 100 but I always feel it's quality over quantity anyway

December 2012 competition - Festive / Celebration (Winner)
ajax_andy replied to ajax_andy's topic in Competition Time
Haha you should be disqualified -
@yourservice on winning the competition with a very nice shot using some lovely bokeh and embracing the 'festive' element of the theme. Sadly not enough entries for a prize (had to be 10 entries or more) but well done none the less. Also well done to those who entered and there were some really nice shots in there.

Voting can now commence. Please note we didn't get enough entries for the prize to stand (minimum of 10 entries)... but some good efforts none the less and thanks to those who took the time to give it a bash. Tooj was disqaulified as I don't believe that to be one of his photos... although it was a fantastic entry Hopefully you can vote for more than one entry if you like several... no idea how the poll works though so if not erm well though titties on toast Voting will close 31st Jan 2013

You hung the brain of a small animal from a tree and then took a photo of it?!! Sick git!

Lets keep it vaguely on topic as I'm in holland on my phone so moderating is difficult and too much like hard work

1) Upload your image to Toontastic using this link: http://www.toontasti...y-competitions/ 2) Hit 'Upload' on the right hand side and then 'browse'. Select the image file and click 'Ok' and then click 'Upload' and then 'Review & Publish'. 3) Fill in any details you want or leave blank and then click 'Finish & Publish' 4) Click on the thumbnail of your image and then once it's loaded up click the big 'Options' button and then select 'Share links'. Select the 'bb code' copy (right click & select 'copy', or just press Ctrl and C together), and paste this in to the 'Entries' thread. Your image should now appear. I haven't tested the next way of doing it but Ant posted this in another thread so feel free to give it a go: 1) If they've used the gallery, see the "My Media" button up where you change fonts etc when you're making a post 2) hit that hit gallery images and click the picture you want to insert into the post and it'll do it for you and pop it up in a fancy dialog box when ya hit it Or if you're a Flickr user feel free to just use that and post via that instead

If you have a shit memory won't you forget to take the fish oils? I reckon it's just an age thing for 2 reasons: 1) As a kid everything is interesting and exciting, so it sticks in your memory more than the general mundane day to day stuff of adult life. Take footy for example, I remember loads of vivid stuff from my childhood, but now not so much... as a kid footy was magical but now it's just another small part of life that I either have time for or don't. 2) As an adult you have to remember all sorts of stuff from day to day things to work related stuff... I reckon the brain can't hold as much info as is required so certain stuff kind of falls out and is lost. As a kid you have fuck all to remember so what you do have is easier to file in the right place and keep it there until needed. I noticed the longer hours and more work I do the worse my memory becomes, but then if I'm a bit quieter my memory is better... still shit but better than at the busier times. I'm pretty sure it's just part of growing older tbh and wouldn't worry about it
