Getting rid of the deadwood sounds great in theory but no team in their right mind is going to want to buy dullards like Viduka, Duff etc, they are sitting on big contracts and won't to drop down a level and lose money, and the other option would be to pay off their contracts which would cost a fortune, a fortune that would be better spent on new players.t

What the fuck are you on about ????? Do you think Shay Given leaving had a good impact on our season. Good or Fucking bad ? how fucking easy do you want me to make it ? shall I draw you a fucking picture ?
-
Is Shay Given battling it out against relegation with us or is he lapping up the Arab wages at City ?? It seems some people seem to be supporters of Shay Given United rather than Newcastle United.
-
Of course bad in regards this season, that to me does not taint the previous years of fantastic service he gave us. Questioning his loyalty is unfair, yes he took the opportunity to leave in the end when he felt enough was enough, but as I said Harper said he would have done the same, a man you seem to feel is the epitome of loyalty. Where are you from again ??? You are talking out your passport.
-
No, its just you have avoided the question, Ashley, Llambias and Wise's guilt is not in question, it is the other parties involvement which people seem to have a problem identifying. Was a two option answer too hard ? Shay stropping off in January, good or bad for us ??
-
I'll keep this simple because some people seem to be getting confused, for the record, I support Newcastle United Football Club, not one individual past or present. Answer the following question, and to keep it easy I'll limit the answer to just two alternatives: Shay Given handing in a transfer request and signing for Manchester City in January: Good or bad for Newcastle United this season ???? "G" for good, or "B" for bad ??

Is Shay here now toughing it out ? no, he's off with the Man City millionaire also-rans, that tells you everything you need to know, you want to talk about loyalty and honesty ? ask Steve Harper, go on, I dare you.

and Stardog Champion is bloody awesome too, his death was a sickening loss.
-
he left for purely selfish reasons, if he had one iota of affection for NUFC he would have stuck it out until the end of the season, instead he took the Arabs money, and left us firmly in the shit, his loyalty during the Champions League and UEFA Cup seasons is lamentable in comparison to his strop when Sir Bobby played Harper when he issued his first transfer request, and his crayon snapping after the Liverpool tonking affirmed exactly where his loyalties lay, in the mirror and in the bank.

Is that your opinion ?

and 19 years since this man died, could have been bigger than Cobain and Staley. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Wood His influence was massive, Temple of the Dog, Alice In Chains Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell and Soundgarden. and the writer of this under rated epic.

Agreed - given could have waited till the end of the season - dropped us in it and his bleating on when he left was pathetic - we stood by him when he was injured and paid him a fantastic wage throughout his contract - we owed him nowt Word fucking perfect !
-
Given left for purely selfish reasons, tainting his reputation at the club in my opinion, Keegan's decision to leave, for right or wrong, had a detrimental effect on Newcastle United's season and contributed to our current situation.

For me this season the blame is down to the following men for various reasons:

2-1 Carroll

Latest: Newcastle Res 1 Manchester City Res 1 Newcastle took the lead in the 16th minute through a shot from Andy Carroll but Benjani levelled for City with a header on 32 minutes. Danny Guthrie was forced to leave the pitch five minutes before the break after taking a kick on the ankle, to be replaced by Haris Vuckic. Team: Krul, Tavernier, Lough, Smith, Morris, Edgar, Doninger, Guthrie (Vuckic 40), Ranger, Carroll, Xisco Subs: Godsmark, Danquah, Ferguson, James Taylor. City were the last side to beat Newcastle's reserve side, winning 3-0 at Hyde back in January. Since then the lads have won five and drawn the other two of their seven league and cup fixtures. The visitors sit in fourth spot - a point and a place behind Newcastle - and are expected to include Martin Petrov as he continues his comeback from injury.
