Ricky Hatton's light-welterweight fight with Filipino Manny Pacquiao is definitely on, BBC Sport understands. Hatton's lawyer Gareth Williams has told BBC Sport that a signed contract was received at the weekend. The fight will take place at Las Vegas' MGM Grand casino on 2 May, with full details to be announced this week. The news follows weeks of uncertainty with Pacquiao's camp reportedly wanting a 60-40 split, however Hatton's camp insists he will get an equal share. "We have got the contract, signed by Manny," Williams said. Hatton has yet to sign the contract - purely due to logistics with Williams being in London. "It won't be a problem and we'll announce the fight at a press conference on Thursday," he added. "All the pressure is off now." Pacquiao, 30, is currently regarded as the world's best pound-for-pound fighter, a status he confirmed by beating Oscar de la Hoya in December. The fight had been in danger of collapsing earlier this month. But last week Golden Boy Promotions chief executive Richard Schaefer, negotiating on Mancunian Hatton's behalf, confirmed a signed contract from the Philippines had been received. On Friday, Pacquiao's promoters Top Rank had declared that the fight was back on. And Williams confirmed to BBC Sport on Monday that everything is in place and an agreement has now been reached and recieved. Hatton, 30, has been chasing Pacquiao ever since the latter demolished American legend De la Hoya inside nine rounds. Hatton, who has only lost once in 46 fights, beat American Paulie Malignaggi in November and had made no secret of his interest in meeting the winner of Pacquiao-De la Hoya. With the Pacquiao fight in danger of collapse, Hatton's camp had also been chasing De la Hoya himself or a re-match with Floyd Mayweather Jr - the only man to defeat Hatton. But a fight with Pacquiao, who has lost three of his 48 fights with two draws, is now on and promises to be one of the fights of the year.

Legendary boxing commentator and journalist Reg Gutteridge has died after a short illness aged 84. An amateur boxer as a youngster, he turned to journalism after losing a leg when he stepped on a mine in Normandy during the Second World War. He worked for the Evening News, in London, as its boxing correspondent for 40 years but made his name as ITV's voice of boxing before moving to Sky. Awarded an OBE in 1995, Gutteridge also covered six Olympic Games. Gutteridge, who lived in Barnet, died on Saturday. He leaves a wife, daughter and four grandsons. 606: YOUR TRIBUTES RIP - Reg Gutteridge, world's greatest boxing commentator His daughter Sally said: "He was a much-loved husband, father and grandfather. He touched many lives." In 2002 he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe also paid tribute to Gutteridge, saying: "His distinctive voice, knowledge of the sport's greats, insights from decades reporting it and partnership with Jim Watt brought boxing to life for so many viewers. "Just two weeks ago we mourned the death of the BBC's David Vine. With Reg's passing, we have lost another figure so familiar from our TV screens over so many years - a real broadcasting great." The voice of boxing - RIP

Hull City have confirmed the signing of midfielder Jimmy Bullard for a club-record fee of £5m from Fulham. The 30-year-old has completed formalities and is expected to be paraded before the fans ahead of the FA Cup tie with Millwall. Tigers boss Phil Brown said: "The support mechanism that the chairman has provided for me as a new manager in the Premier League is fantastic." Meanwhile, on-loan defender Kamil Zayatte has signed a three-year deal. Fulham boss Roy Hodgson had been resigned to losing Bullard, but is satisfied with the £5m fee that has been agreed. He said: "It's disappointing to lose Jimmy. We said all along that we'd like to keep all of our players but the possibility of Jimmy leaving has been there all the time. "He's been seeking the type of contract we couldn't give him. I congratulate Hull and Jimmy on getting the contract he wanted. "It wasn't just wage demands prompting Jimmy to go, but the length of contract too. "He's 31 this year and we didn't feel able to provide him with the contract he wanted. The transfer fee that has been negotiated is suitable for a player of his age. I thank Jimmy for the year of work he did under me." Bullard had been the subject of a £5m bid from Bolton last week, but the move failed to go through. Brown said: "It's shown everyone of how serious, one, Paul Duffen (Hull City chairman), two, Phil Brown and three Hull City is to the Premier League campaign." The former Wigan midfielder was out of contract at Fulham at the end of the 2009/10 season. Hull agreed a fee of about £2.5m with Swiss club Young Boys of Berne for 23-year-old Guinea defender Zayatte earlier in the season and he has now accepted personal terms on a permanent deal. And The Tigers have also agreed a new contract with left-back Andy Dawson.

HUNGARIAN starlet Tamas Kadar faces between four and six months on the sidelines after fracturing his tibia during Wednesday's Reserve-team victory over Sunderland. The 18-year-old challenged with Black Cats winger Jordan Henderson in the dying seconds of the 2-1 win as he looked to protect the Magpies slender advantage. But Kadar was left in a heap after winning the ball and was stretchered from the field in obvious discomfort. The Under-21 international was taken to hospital in Sunderland where he spent the night before being transferred to a hospital in Newcastle on Thursday morning. The club's medical staff have told nufc.co.uk that the fracture is uncomplicated and he is expected to make a full recovery within four to six months. And coach Richard Money said: "It's a blow to the boy and to the first-team squad. "He's been on the bench recently and has made himself part of that squad because he's been playing very well. "It put a downer on what was an otherwise terrific win. "We wish him all the best and I know he's got the character to come back."
