Newcastle and Hearts on top table after G14 break-up
Jimbo replied to Tom's topic in Newcastle Forum
Fuck me. That one is going in my sig. Do you really mean that? Do you really think because you got a wild card to this meeting that you are punching with the Milans, Madrid and Barcas? HAHAHA That is without fail the most delusional thing I have ever heard. Bar none. We do sit round the table with them you tosser. FACT. That's the whole point of this group. Where did I ever say we were on a level with them? In fact I made sure not to imply any such thing, predicting your response. We are miles away from them. And your sad lot are even further away. When was the last time such teams as Inter, Barcelona, and Juventus were seen at White Hart Lane? Playstation ? -
Next time I can't sleep I'll give it another look....

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says Chelsea have made an "astronomical" bid for Brazilian Kaka. The Blues have long been linked with a move for 26-year-old World Player of the Year and their boss is now ex-Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari. Galliani told Italian newspaper La Stampa: "We received an astronomical offer from Chelsea for Kaka." Galliani also revealed the club have had interest in 29-year-old Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo. Pirlo's agent has been reported as saying in the Italian press he wants his client to be given the same wage as Kaka. Galliani says selling Kaka and Pirlo would immediately stabilise Milan's finances, with the club having missed out on a place in next season's Champions League. "All we would need to do in order to wipe out our debts is sell Kaka and Pirlo," he said. AC Milan technical director Leonardo told BBC Sport last month it was "impossible" for Chelsea to sign Kaka. Kaka himself revealed to BBC Sport in April he would not rule out the possibility of one day playing for one of the big clubs in the Premier League.

the scouser joining in with the Spurs-baiting? to be honest I'd say Everton are more of a threat to the top four in the EPL than anyone else. Consistently built without spending a huge wedge. Can play some good football and have a decent (in numbers) following. Certainly more likely to maintain a challenge throughout the season instead of feigning challenge but stuttering at the last. The man speaketh the truth. -
I enjoyed it as much, the fact that they are on the trail of Dexter in series 2 makes if different, and in some aspects, more enjoyable, in my opinion.

If I were your lot I would be concentrating on improving the playing staff rather than influencing the rules of the game. Im not bitter in the slightest. THFC = Cups. NUFC = Mugs. LOL jesus, you're insane with jealousy man. THFC = mid-table mediocrity NUFC = 5th biggest club in England FACT Based on your total lack of success? Lack of success ? In recent years. 2 FA Cup Finals 1 UEFA Cup semi final Premier League runners up 3 Season's of Champions League football. ok, no silveware but hardly a lack of success is it ? -

Gutierrez deal takes new twist Mallorca demand compensation, while Velez want player back Real Mallorca are demanding £8million compensation from Newcastle for Jonas Gutierrez. The Argentina international left the Primera Liga side for the North East on Wednesday after buying out the remaining two years of his contract in Spain. With that effectively making him a free agent, cash-strapped Mallorca are threatening to report the issue to Fifa in an attempt to secure a financial package they deem suitable for a player of international pedigree. The Spanish club's president Vicente Grande claims that they will be left on the brink of administration if the deal is allowed to stand and has urged world football's governing body to intervene. Crisis "Because of our financial crisis, this could really damage us. In fact, it has come at the worst possible time," said Grande. "We cannot understand the attitude of the player who has done this to force a move to England. "This matter is not closed because the club has decided to go to FIFA to reclaim our right. The minimum we want to recuperate is the £8million Portsmouth offered us in the winter.'' Despite the president's calls for action, Gutierrez is adamant that he has done nothing wrong and is looking forward to beginning a new chapter in his career. He said: "My conscience is clear and I am not worried by the actions of Real Mallorca. I just want to play for Newcastle in the Premier League." Loan Another issue which could scupper Mallorca's plans for compensation involves the dual ownership of Gutierrez that the club shared with his first club Velez Sarsfield. The Argentinean outfit insist that the winger was due to return to them next season anyway, although they too have suggested that they will be exploring the legalities of the 25-year-old's move to England. "Jonas Gutierrez was due to return to Velez Sarsfield on 1st July in accordance with the contract signed with Mallorca, owners of a 50 per cent stake of his economic rights," said Velez president Alvaro Ballestrini. "After three seasons on loan at Mallorca he would have had to come back to Velez if Newcastle had not come in." With confusion now surrounding the transfer Ballestrini has also been quoted as saying that there still remains a possibility that Gutierrez will return to his homeland, rather than the Premier League. "I want to contact the agent of Jonas and the directors of Newcastle," he told radio station Cadena Sar. "We have requested the player's presence at training in Buenos Aires on 7th July and after that we will announce our official position."

From ITN: Newcastle United have described claims that Mike Ashley is about to sell up - with a price-tag of £420 million - as "absolute nonsense". One report suggested American private equity fund InterMedia Partners had been told the business was available for that figure - £286 million more than the billionaire paid for it just a year ago. It is understood informal discussions between representatives of Mr Ashley and counterparts from the New York-based outfit have taken place Sources in America have confirmed the US company was interested enough to hold initial talks. It is not the first time the the club's ownership has hit the headlines. In the past, the word from St James' Park has always been that Mr Ashley is building for a sustained future and is not looking to make a quick profit and then get out. However, that has not stopped repeated talk in the City that the business is for sale at the right price. Since Mr Ashley has taken over at the club, he has ploughed around £100 million into the club to address the debt situation he inherited and to strengthen the squad. However, far from throwing money at the task of dragging the Magpies back into the upper reaches of the Barclays Premier League table, he has embarked on an economy drive in an attempt to slash transfer exependiture and a spiralling wage bill.
