  1. I think Defoe is underated too, just don't honestly think he'd be that prolific, but at least he'd play 10 games in a row which is more than can be said for Owen.
  2. I don't think Gullit was the only manager who fell foul of Shearer's influence over the club, I'm no fan of Gullit but I don't totally disagree with him when it comes to Shearer.
  3. Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce has given up hope of landing Manchester United ace Wes Brown on loan next month. The Magpies tactician had targeted the England international after the long-serving Red Devils ace rejected the chance to sign a new contract. However, Allardyce believes with worries over Gary Neville's long-term fitness, Ferguson will not be prepared to let Brown depart in the New Year. The former Bolton manager is desperate to plug The Magpies' leaky defence, although they did keep a clean sheet in their last-gasp 1-0 win over Fulham. "Wes Brown is not going to be available in January," he told The People. "He may leave at the end of the season. "The speculation comes round because he supposedly turned a contract down, but I can't see Sir Alex letting him leave with Gary Neville being injured."
  4. I'll be honest, if you'd have offered me the position we are in before the start of the season, I'd have taken it ! But given the manner of our "performances", and the utter avoidablility of our poor results this season coupled with the sad fact that I don't actually enjoy watching us play at the moment, I don't believe Allardyce is the man for us, I don't believe that becoming Bolton is the way forward for Newcastle United.
  5. How's he being a twat? Just by playing Zoggy at left back? Playing 4-3-3 when the players at his disposal don't suit it. Geremi (no further explanation required) Alan Smith, more bookings than attempts on goal. Playing Butt when not fit. Playing Faye when not fit. Substituting creative players when chasing a result. Playing Martins out of position. Playing Milner out of position. Thats without the fact we are looking absolute shite and not learning and responding to the causes of it.
  6. Clearly your tolerance for mediocrity is a lot higher than mine
  7. That's from the Allardyce "give me 5 years" sch0ol of bullshit. We have players who cannot pass to a team mate 10 yards away. Players who cannot control the odd ball that does reach them. Players who look like they will never score. Its hardly surprising the football is absolutely diabolical. Fulham were abysmal. But for one moment of quality from Viduka we would have drawn with them to go with our points off Sunderland and Boro and our defeats to Derby and Reading. Can you explain how a team that was "average" last year, bordering on poor but occasionally played a bit of football can actually have gone backwards? I can - selection, tactics and coaching. Can you explain how a team who were as shit as Man City can now be an attractive team (admittedly only at home) - I can - selection, tactics and coaching. I remember a few ugly wins under Keegan, Dalglish and even Bobby - I loved them - none were anywhere near as depressing and worrying as that debacle last night. I'm nailing my colours the Jimbo et als' mast - wrong man for us. Also on being fickle I'm going to sound like LM here but I don't care - I've watched NUFC when we've been properly shit - there was an excuse then - there isn't now - thats the fucking difference. Spot on, and yes Fulham were abysmal, and so were we, I'm delighted we won, winning away, especially in London is not something to take lightly for us and I'll take the result with both hands, but the main frustration for me is that we could have won far more convincingly and with a bit of flair, and the reason we didn't is purely down to team selection, square pegs in round holes, players playing in a formation to which they are not suited. The last two matches we have been extremely fortunate to have won but those wins have masked the fact that we have looked terrible, we have become a team that when we lose we capitulate and when we win we look awful and that’s not what I want Newcastle United to become, of course I'll take winning ugly over not winning at all, but the potential of the team is far better than that. As for not questioning Allardyce because he's a manager and we aren't, did you offer Souness and Roeder the same grace ? of course not, for me this is like the fable of the Emperor’s new clothes, too many folk are ignoring the stark facts whilst a few brave souls are willing to say what they see. If seeing Newcastle United turn into Bolton is what you want, then fine but that’s not what I want. I still firmly believe that Allardyce is the wrong man for this club and both players and fans alike are the ones that will suffer during his tenure at the club, witnessing dross like Geremi and Smith continue to command places in the team ahead of others that are clearly better, playing negative tactics that will only consolidate our position as lower table pap rather than pushing us forward. Time is crucial for the right manager to get things right, but time is also the conduit for a shite manager to take as backwards as it has been shown by his predecessors. Feel free to bump my posts when Allardyce has driven us into the upper echelons of the Premier league and established us a part of the "big 4 or 5" but I fear that it will either be a very long wait or not happen at all.
  8. You couldn't argue too much if there was a better player playing in the middle, but Alan Smith ? give me strength, he offers about as much threat infront of goal as a dead sheep.

fair comment, try here instead. http://www.boobpedia.com
  10. He was meant to play on the right but kept creeping across to the middle.
  11. I hope the same sorry end becomes to the twat that keeps playing him on the right and Smith in the middle.

I think the current SKY+ systems have 80gig drives, which should give 40hrs recording time, the only way of getting any of the material off is via a VCR or DVD recorder,IE play the recorded material whilst recording using the other device, I changed the hard drive in my system once and I tried the old SKY+ drive in a PC and I'm pretty sure I couldn't open any of the files to view.

  15. I think every time we have watched Newcastle use 4-3-3 it hasn’t worked, because of the simple reason that Martins is not comfortable playing out there and if you are going to play that system your players have to be very comfortable and disciplined, and Martins is not. He is drifting inside all the time, so when you want your spaces out wide and leave the man down the centre and join him, he is there too early. Sam Allardyce has not got the personnel to play 4-3-3 at the moment, not the way he wants to play and with the players he has got. Maybe in the January transfer window he will look to change that. They have grafted in the last few games, and if you graft eventually your quality will come out. Okay, we didn’t see too much of it today, but they were away from home and their away record has been pretty poor, so what they had to do was graft out a result today, sometimes you have to. Newcastle a month ago would have lost that game, or they wouldn’t have carried on until the 90th minute when they got the penalty, and I think that is the difference, that is the positive thing he will get out of it. The team are looking a lot fitter now, he has got the likes of Joey Barton back, Michael Owen to come back, Viduka, and it is all about getting time on the pitch. He is still struggling with injuries because he has lost Taylor now for a few weeks, he has had to rush Cacapa back, but the rest of the team are getting some time on the pitch and the training ground.
  16. Check out the fixture list and start making some appointments.
  17. Maybe so, but I wish he would stop throwing and passing to the opposition............and making mistakes. Maybe if Jose was given a run of games he might prove to be the left-back Allardyce wanted and paid good money for. Zoggy looking the best left back this season ? You're having a fucking laugh ! Zoggy's looked good going forward, thats because thats his prefered position, and looks natural when doing it unlike Milner who has to move in-field to get the ball on to his right foot.
  18. Jose is not getting a game because Zoggy has looked the best left back this season going forward and when he does make a mistake he has the pace to get back and try and rectify the situation. And Jimbo grow the fuck up, all you seem to be doing now a days is having a go at the big man. Martins never looked like scoring or setting up anything at all today. I don't care if he was played out of position if he stuck to staying out wide instead of going into the middle he would have done more damage. Just like his shooting he can put in a very good fast cross. We have finally managed to get some luck on our side in the last couple of games. There has been a few games this season when we should have won a pen and not been given one. I must concur. Sick to death of hearing "Three points but papered over the cracks" Thats because you're in denial mate. Sooner or later the penny will drop and you'll realise that Allardyce is a fucking shite manager, and you'll hop on my bandwaggon.
  19. I'd take Hughes over Allardyce in a heart beat.
  20. Having players playing in positions where they are comfortable in is a good way of minimising poor possesion, passing and shit control in my opinion, once again we saw a match ruined by players wasted out of position.
  21. Utterly delighted with the win, but once again the result papers over the cracks of woeful team selection, we are grossly underachieving all due our best players playing out of a position.
  22. Fuck me, lets strike him a medal !
  23. A pen, Allardyce thanks his lucky stars again
