Last night's highlight: Just before the game started, the referee's name was read out and his nationality - German. As soon as the announcer said 'Germany' a section of the crowd started booing. At that precise moment, Fab-lo's head was on the big screen. He heard the booing, saw his dial on the big screen and assumed the crowd were booing him :D Fair dues to the guy though, as he laughed it off. Despite what 'Motty' and 'Lawro' said, I thought the pitch looked dodgy again - despite being a new pitch. Nice to hear the fans booing after 30 mins

Anybdoy watch this last night? Dave Gorman driving across the U.S. in an old car and only using independent 'gas' stations, accommodation and eating establishments. It was okay, but ended up being a bit top heavy with looking for gas stations all the time. The thing is, it didn't half make me feel like doing the same thing i.e. drving across the States. Anyone?

Last I heard of that 'monsta' cunt was a couple of years ago and he was quite ill. Dunno what happened though. Still a cunt in his heyday.

The only problem being that Geremi will actually need 'to sit' (on a chair), with his 40 yr old legs (Mourinho). I just think if you stuck him there it would suit him and he'd link midfield and defence better than Butt who looks pretty shit atm. Plus, we've tried just about everything else. Barton looks a bit more like his old self too, especially when he moved to the centre. It's not ideal, but we're short of options in there. I watched the second half of Cameroon's game last night and while he didn't have a lot to do at rightback, with Tunisia mainly attacking down the other flank, he looked good in posession, rarely giving the ball away and knocking in some good balls. His legs never got him overlapping the winger which might support the his legs are fucked argument, but I agree he could be the best bet for sitting role as long as we manage to get someone running off him. Barton hasn't done this as much as I expected so far but he's had a very stop start time of it (to say the least) so maybe he might improve given a run. I would like to see Emre get a run though but he has to push on a lot more if that's what we're going to do. Geremi scored one of Cameroon's goals direct from a free kick. Put it on Youtube, send it to 'appy 'arry and sell him to Pompey for an extra million than normal. Sorted.

Everyone of those came from a set piece and thats generally for me the only time he looks dangerous. I do not slate the guy on here or at the matches but he really does look done to me. Each game I keep expecting for it to maybe click but game after game it is convincing me that he is finished as a player. There is no doubting he knows where the back of the net is (although as pointed out by others even alot of his shots are both weak and scuffed) but his all round game is offering very little to the side from open play. The last one came from a move down the left, but I take your overall point. I find it annoying when he is dropping back into our half though as he's supposed to be a striker. Who knows what he will show in a better team set-up (maybe playing for England will show us, once Capello gets some meaningful games to play for and the team playing the way he wants them to).

Who him ??? Occasionally on telly, got two appalling columns (one sport, one in the main paper) in the Sunday Times. He is a Millwall fan but was brought up on Teeside and hates us. Even if he didn't you'd still find it impossible to like him. He's absolutely dreadful.
