bet the second mugger was gutted that he'd been beaten to it. no doubt he took some persuading that it was true and he wasnt just hiding his wallet up his arse! My mate's dad did some work in Brazil, he was frequently robbed at gunpoint. The advise I was given whilst there was always to have something to give them, as they can get a tad annoyed if you didn't have owt for them.

Breaking News: Glenn Roeder appointed Norwich City manager
snakehips replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
agreed, it was cliche-tastic, its a shame, he comes across as a thoroughly decent bloke, the trouble is nice-guys finish last in many cases, he might get Narrich out of trouble but other than that I can't see him doing much. Only a month, or so, ago, Roeder was being tipped to go into Arsenal as Wengers assistant, or some such position. It was widely reported that Wenger thinks very highly of Roeder. -
Fuckin hell...me me me tbh. No better than one of your z-celebs out of Chat! Wasn't thinking of anyone in particular, but if I must name names, reading it back Manc, Snakey and Fop are particularly high and mighty. And don't you forget it, prol.

Remind me you need a spank when you get back!!!

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_2840981,00.html Why should a switch to Manchestuh be okay, just because he was prepared to go to Middlesbrough ? Oh yeah....

The truth is that Heather Mills never lies. I know, because I am her. As it were. Jake the peg and all that. Love Dickens. It was the best of times. It was the worst of times (iirc).

Thanks dudes. Much appreciated.

Was it Jardine v Jardine in Bleak House ????? (no connection, but the line rang a bell of a Dickens novel)

Aye there's the rub for me tbh. While she's perfectly right about tabloid lies, she hasn't got a leg to stand on (pun virtually unavoidable) as she's a complete stranger to the truth herself. Aside from the question of lies, I agree with the broader points made about tabloids generally too. It is as much a fault of the people who buy them (which clearly is in the millions) as the tabloids themselves. I think the world would be a better place if they just didnt exist- if they didn't then people like Mills and numerous other no mark celebs would be far less renowned and that can only be a good thing for me. You just despair when you see what some people are famous for. I'd also put 95% of women's magazines and a massive percentage of satellite TV up there as fuelling worthless celebrity too. The public's appetite for it is fucking insatiable and women are by far the worst offenders. It's not just the tabloids. All these magazines for the brain-dead of our population are as much to blame for making no-marks out to be some sort of 'celebrites', and convincing said brain-dead folk that they need to know what is happening in the lives of these non-entities. Ban the fuckin' lot of them.

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched
snakehips replied to Jimbo's topic in General Chat
Went to see Eastern Promise yesterday. Hmmmm, not a bad film but the low budget ensured it didn't go as far as it should have. A bit contrived at times and one glaringly obvious 'hidden' plot line. Some pretty gory bits with an absolutely fantastic scene in the steam room (I wont spoil it for anyone going to see it - it will be remembered for many years by all who do see it). 7/10 on the hips scale. -
Tony Blair was a Pirate? that's awesome! It's a reference to Judas Escariot numbnuts. At the start of the Last Supper, Peter started handing out Indian takeaways to the assembled. 'Had on,' says Jesus (he was a Geordie) 'we cannit afford this, like.' 'It's okay' says Peter 'Judas got them in; he's just come into some money.'

Leazes is writing to M.A. to complain; something about not realising what they did, fifth best club blah blah blah.

Shithole. Appaprently there will be a maximum of four new stadiums (Portugal built six for the euro championships). The transport systems leave a lot to be desired. I know one fellow who was mugged twice in one day whilst in Rio

I'd love to see Mike Ashley on Dragon's Den. Just to see something of his persona and business brain.

Try as hard as I can, but I just cannot warm to this lad. He's just a new Steve 'interesting' Davis tbh - BORING! It's about time he was found pissed up in the gutter somewhere covered in puke (probably having tripped over Radgi ). THEN, I might like him a bit more.

Was wonderin' that mesel There must have been 'words' between them at some time. FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT

West Ham chairman: US 'should host Premier matches'
snakehips replied to Bombadil's topic in Newcastle Forum
It was vastly oversubscribed I think. Re: the idea of having Premier League games over there. They can just fuck off. I heard that there were a million applications for tickets (probably 750,000 from Yanks who haven't got a clue where London is ). As for any Prem game or FA Cup game or League Cup game going anywhere overseas (wherever that may be) is to be resisted at all costs. -
Don't you know? Martins is shit and Owen's World class, it must be right because I read it on here. Where did you read that then? Because it's hardly the majority viewpoint. Don't go pissing on his bonfire, Alex.
