1. Miss hips played me a couple of tracks of theirs. Pretty good, I reckon. Not everyone's cup of tea I suppose, but it was certainly different and easy on the ear. cue the slagging of them and anyone who likes them.
2. Who's the dude who works in the club shop and told us about all the O's and E's coming into the shop for the back of shirts prior to Owen coming in?? We need him to tell us a load of M's, T's and N's have arrived. If Martins does decide to go to Pompey, then he is definitely not the type of guy we want here; it would be painful, but an indication that he would want to move somewhere else if he had been a big hit here and then a 'bigger' club came in for him at a later date.
3. Extremely interested by Klose's 'Hope Bremen wouldn't stand in my way if a top offer came in. Let's see what happens.' Shola & Martins (should he come) are not enough and Glenn knows this. btw, just bought me Ventspils ticket and when asked where I would like to sit I asked for the dugout in one of those heated seats, as some weather reporter on Toontastic has predicted arctic conditions on Thurs. Soooooo £784.57 later....
4. Just got a flashback of Psycho Killer being played live on....Whistle Test, I think? Utterly fantastic
5. Im sure Inzi would have first wanted to talk to each and everyone of his players before making a decision like that. He had to make sure noone actually messed with the ball, then take action. Tea was close, he waited for it instead of calling a conference in the middle of the pitch. I do agree with you people that Pakistan could have handled this better, either dont come out at all or get on with it straight away. But Hair's action's were way out of order, accusing without any evidence. Im glad the people like Atherton, Hussain and Botham are seeing the sense in it. The stuff about Pakistan having a criminal history in the game is not exactly false, we've caused our fair share of controversies but you cant just think that the current players would do the same thing past ones did, moreover base such an accusation on it. By the way its not like you lot have a clean history, with the famous 'bodyline' series and atherton carrying dirt in his pockets and all 182345 You're right aimaad, we (England) have no reason to claim any moral high ground. Ahterton was caught red-handed and he was by no means the first to tamper with the ball.
6. Hmmmmmmmmmm, what I want to know in all this cuffuffle (sp) is where is Peasepud????????????????
7. Oh, and when the 5 runs were awarded, Pakistan didn't seem to make much of the charge against them; which seemed strange to me. ONLY when the news came through that no tv evidence was available as proof did they start to kick up a stink. Surely I'm not the only one who noticed this?? We need to see the fuckin' ball!!
8. Wasn't Hair the only umpire who had the balls (no pun intended) to repeatedly 'no-ball' Murali when everyone (apart from the Sri Lankan's) were more than a litlle dubious regarding his action? Someone made the point that Pakistan had no reason to tamper with the ball. On the contrary, they had every reason to; England were getting closer and closer to overhauling the total required and things were just not going their (Pakistan) way. So, what do they do? Alter the ball. Devil's advocate here, but that was a valid reason for them to do it - if indeed they did. We need to see the ball!
9. Apparently Spurs are sniffing around Bridge now, so things aren't as cut and dried as most of us hoped they would be. 182190 They've wanted him for ages. Can see him wanting to stay down south too. 182199 I have a confession. I have always thought Bridge looked a big wet blouse tbh. If he comes here I may well change my view, but if he goes to 'the lane' I wont
10. Apparently Spurs are sniffing around Bridge now, so things aren't as cut and dried as most of us hoped they would be.
11. Well, we all know - women and football
12. I was extremely worried for them when Quinn took over and said 'you don't win matches here (sunlun) with tactics, you win with passion.' That just reminded me of our feckless wonder Souness with his 'I don't believe in tactics' rubbish. Quinn then goes on about 'the players have to step up if they are going to stay here' prior to the Southend game. This is just soundbite shit that is designed to curry favour with the fans and indicates he hasn't got a clue how to coach his team.
13. I bet she got straight A's for her English A-levels anarl. A truly dreadful piece of reporting. 'Newcastle's pitch still drains poorly' We always had a great draining pitch due to the ground being on a hill. As has just been pointed out, if any ground sees a downpour for a few hours before a game it is going to find it difficult to drain quickly. '...should give advice on aviation security' Daily Telegraph is it? Hmmmmm, if it's the same as it was a few years ago, check out some of the names of the reporters - public school or what?
14. Until we see the ball, and hear the argument that the umpires are making regarding deliberate tampering, we are not going to be able to form a reasonable opinion ourselves. I was listening on the radio throughout the day and couldn't believe what I was hearing. Seeing the tv coverage later on, it struck me that the umpires seemed to be watching intently the pakistani players when they had the ball in hand - far more intently than I have ever noticed before. Innocent until proven guilty???? Are the Pakistanis innocent, as we have not seen the evidence; or are they guilty, as the umpires have alreaady delivered the verdict on them? After all, the umpires are there for that reason! Curiouser and curioser.
15. I am pleased to say I have not watched 1 minute of this series of BB and possibly only watched 2 minutes of the last one. Oh, and I'm still alive Sitting over sunday dinner last week - Snakehips: 'BB is only for the brain-dead of the population.' Mother-in-law: 'I watch it.' Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I haven't quite come to a conclusion on the debate
16. Ah, the good old Star! Me and my mates used to fuckin' rule that pub many moons ago! Fuckin' nails 181447 ooer ...I'm scared !!! Actually it was canny, mind you it has been done up somewhat since the last time I was in there and there was a gorgeous Australian behind the bar who was very helpful.. 181449 Aye, it was a canny watering hole when we frequented it. Not too palatial, but had a good pool table and a good pint. The aussie barman is my long-lost twin from Cairns. We were separated at birth. Oh, and he's not as good looking as me!
17. Ah, the good old Star! Me and my mates used to fuckin' rule that pub many moons ago! Fuckin' nails
18. He's awsome on lead 180915 I wondered which old fart would have heard of him!
19. Exactly, Birmingham paying 4 million for McSheffrey done us no favours at all. Nugent is better IMO and leaves Preston in a position to demand quite a bit more than what the Brummies paid.. 180773 Yeah, but Cov knew Brum were desperate for a striker.............
20. We've all heard the name, but has anyone got any actual first-hand experience of how good this Ted Nugent is?? Would love us to buy him and he were to out-score (the 'B' Word) and Kyuiiyut.
21. Why not just get a dendronologist (sp) to take a core sample from his leg, as we don't want a one-legged striker if he proves to be 21, do we! Stupid suggestion 180755 Ok then, ask him if he remembers Shakin Stevens then. 180763 Problem solved! I knew the medical fraternity amongst us would find a solution
22. Fuck, Brock - you sound so unhappy! Divvent worry, Glenn saying this has given me added belief that we will have 2 0r 3 people signed next week. That's added believe as I always thought something would happen in respect of getting striker(s) in I'm at a loss as to why they got all that cheese in, however!
23. No, ya daft bint!! *will claim delusional behaviour/insults resulting from cronic illness * I used the title of 'Medical people' as a request from medical people to my question. I just wondered if he was talking shite, as it seemed such an easy way to sort all the questions out. 180752 I was referring to your spelling ability you delirious giffer! 180757 Shite!!! I see what you mean! I am indeed a giffer!
