Is it only me that thinks this song should be consigned to history? I was there that day and I cannot think of a worse event caused by our supporters in the time I have supported NUFC. I've seen all the coin, golf ball and dart throwing and that was bad enough but glorifying the petrol-bombing of an 'away' supporter is just disappointing to me, that's all. I'm not trying to be 'holier than thou' or trying to appear some sort of killjoy, it's just that that particular song relates to a particularly dark day in our history and the bad old days of soccer hooliganism in general imo.

Or Richard Claydermans? (ask your mother)

George Forbes a disaster? Was he not just a puppet and a makeshift chairman until the in-fighting was sorted? I seem to recall him being at the helm about five minutes which doesn't really qualify as a long term position, does it? Maybe the mists of time are playing tricks on me but I wouldn't have thought he was there long enough to be classed as a disaster.

Agreed... And a striker playing on the wing and not whinging like fuck about it? 66986[/snapback] He's just happy to be in the team tbh. Bellamy whinged because he knows he is a striker and wants to play striker. Jings, am I in cahoots with L/M now?????

Interesting reading in the NOTW top player tables. Strikers 1. Thierry Henry 2. Nathan Ellington 3. Robin van Persie 4. Wayne Rooney 5. Guess who???? here are a couple of clues: he has been called a donkey, bambi, useless and a lazy bastard to name just a few. Yes, you've guessed it, Sherla Ameobi If NOTW says it's so, then it must be true. Quick, what's Real Madrid's phone number??

Don't want him. Drop who to play him? If his leadership qualities are so good, why were Manure struggling??????

Getting on a bit, I didn't hear Wenger's comments. See what I did there? Changed Wenger's legendary 'I did not see it' to one about hearing?? Get it? Eh? Oh fuck it, my talents are wasted here. *goes to N-O to join the fun* *returns even quicker! *

Some of you seem to be missing the point: They pulled the fuckin' FOOTBALL FFS!!!! Priorities, priorities, priorities. Football first, second and third.

Calm down, calm down! Yes, it was a loud bang. Yes, there is smoke and flame. But the matter of injuries/casualties was unkown so no reason to 'go live' on Beeb1 imo. I suspect that the real reason BBC went 'live' is because some fuckwit had reported the sound of a plane prior to the explosion, therefore terrorism and over-reaction by the BBC. And, finally, MOTD was not a repeat for me
-
Exactly. One swallow does not a summer make. One win, against a lethargic-looking Arsenal (imo) should not detract from what was, basically, a performance lacking much skill. The 'tactics' seem confused to me. On one hand we have the desire to hoof the ball up the field at the earliest possible moment hoping that Shearer will get it (on more than a few occasions the ball going straight out of touch ), then when Owen is virtually begging for an early ball over the top to run on to, the ball is passed short in midfield Yes there was great endeavour on our part, but is that not for the likes of Cola league teams and the likes of Bolton and Wigan; swapping skill for brawn?? I'm sure we could have spent a lot less than £50m to assemble a team of cloggers, if that is what Souness wanted to have. Where's the skill and finesse Souness?

Literally dragged mesel out of bed this morning to watch MOTD, only to find the BBC had hi-jacked it to cover this incident. Is it just me, or have they got their priorities wrong? Yes, it's a bit of an incident, but the news channels must be covering this in a blanket coverage which would mean there's no need to pull MOTD?

Anybody seen Peyter Reed recently ?
