  1. i'm obsessed You think Liverpool are doing it wrong, and we are doing it right then ? And you think the strategy of the mackems, of selling one of their prize assets [in their view] and replacing with 3 poorer players is the one we should be following ? You've got a lot to learn. In this case I think it is actually great business for Sunderland. One thing they lacked massively last year was squad depth and if they could have swapped Henderson for them 3 in January they would have finished much stronger. You are forgetting that they are swapping one player with 6 months of form in his whole career for 3 international footballers all who have played in the champions league, won league titles and cups and been around some of the best players in the world for their whole careers. Also, in Gibson they could have a player who has not yet shone because he hasn't had a run of games but actually he could turn out very good with a full season of appearances behind him. I am sorry to say it but I would have everyone of those three in our squad, and they would certainly serve a better purpose than one Jordan Henderson. Sunderland suffered from a complete lack of experience last season and in o'shea and baked bean they have picked that up in abundance. Anyway you wouldn't understand any kind of footballing analysis as all you feel matters is the more a player costs the better he will turn out to be!
  2. As he got sent off i am assuming straight red in playoff semi final he will have only served one match ban, does anyone know if he is due longer and therefore unable to play first few games of season?
  3. santos one is nice. When is our away kit being released?
  4. why is he leaving cos he has truned down a contract when he has two years left? it means absolutely nothing, how many other layers do we have that only have 2 years left, are they all leaving as well?
  5. tbh it's a good thing, we offerd him a four year deal and he turned it down. we should be looking at his contract not this summer but next when we know where we are. He has two years left ffs
  6. Can we not just show him the two games last season. Only 1 point for them and 4 for us. He is ours I tell you, ours. (p.s he will sign for arsenal absolutely no question whatsoever)
  7. I find this very worrying if we are spending all our scouts time looking at players like this and finding clauses. We should be setting the bar higher with the money we have and the ambition but looks like the board do not have a smilar view. Spend the least amount of money to keep us up, it looks like. Shame as if the tosser splashes out the money and gets some quality in ,some fans would give him a second chance. Now I am not supporting the regime here but it sounds like you are saying cos he is young, relatively unheard and can be picked up on the cheap he is not good enough. Let's just sack our scouts then and only buy international superstars shall we?
  8. Spent ages trying to think up a nice witty retort, problem is you are dead fucking right!
  9. Saw a posh bloke called Will Smith in Manchester a while back was v funny just took the piss out of himself being a posh twat which was extremely good, never seen him on television or anything mind! Was at the comedy store at deansgate
  10. Hull are in a similar situation with Bullard, they are basically begging anyone to take him for free just to get his massive wages off the books but considering his age and injuries there aren't too many takers. At least if he is fit tho he can play in the side and perform for them, he was good on load end of the season but that was the biggest ever hull mistake. £50k per week and injured instantly and out for 5 months of the relegation battle they bought him for!
  11. Aye I think your right. Slow day so everyone is just churning everyones stories from days ago. We will probably be the faviourate again tomorrow then arsenal the day after and so on until it is all resolved. I thought he was meant to be telling everyone by the end of last week what he was doing so he obviously hasn't made his mind up yet (or more likely more standard journo bullshit)
  12. so has Joe Hart (saturday night anyone?) but I bet few Citeh fans would opt to stick Shay back between the sticks... that said, his kicking from the ground is woeful, I can barely bring myself to watch if someone plays it back to him and there's a hint of pressure. Harper is no better. Stoke away this season for example!
  13. I don't think that's accurate, quite the opposite. A lot of people were sticking up for him all the time on the basis that he works hard and 'always gets stuck in'. I remember it well because it pissed me off right from the moment we signed him. Aye and start of last season (Championship) he was raved about, lynch pin of the side. I don't mind Alan Smith at the end of the day, it's not his fault he got offered £50k a week coming back from an horrific injury, he has put in some failry decent displays in centre midfield albeit a few shockers and all but he tries hard and means well. Much better than Nile fucking Ranger, shola etc in that respect!
  14. Sounds like sour grapes to me, one of the best keepers to grace the premier league. I know a villain who is gutted. IMO he is still top drawer. Can't think of any occasions he could be described horrific!
  15. I think you are starting to lose perspective leazes. Everyone loved signing these kinds of players and no1 will argue that the quality they brought was a million miles ahead of what we are buying now. The cold hard facts are we did under that regime was completely unsustainable. I don't think I have ever come across someone who speaks so complimentary about a business running on heavy debt and pushing a cliff towards total extinction. Your point of view is what is wrong with society in general, it's the standard fur coat and nee knickers syndrome "it's fine cos when I am fucked and can't afford my house or car i will go bankrupt, society will bail me out and start again" Ashley has made plenty of mistakes but at least we still have a club to support. You bang on about clubs not going under but when the banks kick the bucket and stop giving £25m working overdrafts as standard and recall the debt the club as it was could at any point have gone in seconds. How you can continuously support an insolvent business model is completely beyond my (and 99% of the people on here's) comprehension and that is why you get the shit you do for supporting a time when we were successful on the pitch. The way I look at it is, if you buy a vw golf upfront for £15000 cash you are in a much better position than getting an Audi a5 worth £35k on hire purchase and getting a new one every 2 years but never owning anything and that's the comparison between the new and old regime!
  16. if we are bing daft can I change my keeper to Mike Pollit
  17. Thats bizzare! HAHAHA fell for that big time, oh dear. Good job the other lad I shar an office with is not in today, may have thought I was giving him the 'cum on'
  18. I'm the same age so I'll just have that and avoid a tongue lashing. Not happy there's no room for Micky Quinn there though. That would be mine but swapping giggs out for Messi and its done. Yeah giggs has been consitently very good over a long career but he never has been anywhere close to the quality of messi
  19. It depends what kind of day/night you want really. Darlington is not the shithole people make it out to be. The bad parts are really bad granted but the majority is ok! For me, Oven is by far the best restraunt in the town. The service can be slow but the food more than makes up for it. Bar wise, stay out of hogans if at all possible, full of absolute dicks. Some nice bars in the town centre are Joes Hash 22's, The Grange (great if the weather is good) Seen Harveys P.s the above order is a decent way to do them in! and thats about it. You won't find any comedy clubs or anything like that! In terms of clubbing one club left is Inside Out which is actually failry decent, the other one was the old Mardi Gras which changed to escapades but a squaddy got battered in there and ended up dead and it hasn't re-opened yet! (told you it wasn't a shithole )
  20. It seems there is just too many bigger more lucrative options around for him. I will be amazed if we sign him with the likes of arsenal tottenham Liverpool etc looking at him. For anyone who is not biased towards a club I think we could be bottom of that pile I am afraid!
