1. 185031 Must have read you as they've sorted it now
2. Edit: Late - sorry. Estonia might be nice for an away match like. I fancy taking in a European match this season if I can.
3. Woody back on loan would be good. We don't have a real talker in our defence and woody always did that from day one. Every man in our defence grew an inch when he was on the pitch.
4. Woah man! I'm not a blind closet Luque-lover, I'm just trying to look at things objectively. Luque went missing quite a bit last night and at times, was not doing the job he should have been doing. It might not be his best position, but you should do the best job you can in the position you are asked to play in. Luque was guilty of not doing that last night - at least not for the full 90. Gol - I'm not sure how to take your 'not the worst post' comment?
5. I have mixed feelings about Luque's performance last night. We were crying out for a lone poacher striker last night and we played Luque, who not nor has he ever been. We had a couple of chances last night where a real poacher would have been sniffing around the rebounds etc. Luque is not a Fowler or an Owen and we suffered for that last night. However, I also think there is some truth in what the N-O post actually said. Granted, I watched the match at home on CH5, but I can remember 3 chances Duff had in which he should have passed to an un-marked Luque: two of which Duff turned to Luque and apologised to him for going for the glory shot. I'm not going to critise Duff much like 'cos he was class all night and he wasn't the only one who went for the glory shot instead of passing to Luque. Carr's 30 yarder was the same for example. I think the lad's seriously suffering from a confidence problem and can't read our game yet. Duff played a lovely ball across the box in the second half to the far post. Problem was, Luque had made a lovely run, slipping his marker to the near post. Communication problem there, but he was trying. I agree Luque has been a massive dissappointment here so far, but we're not likely to sell him next week and put ourselves back to 2 strikers again. So whilst he's here we need to work on him and help build his confidence. He's shown he not a crap player by how well he played at Depor, but he's not adapted here yet. With Owen out, and Shola with a dodgey hip, we are going to need him this season. He had a poor game last night when he could have shone, but to be fair, he played mostly on his own last night (for 2/3 of the match Milner was trying to be a winger) and I've given Shola the benefit of the doubt recently when we've played him up front on his own. It's a hard job and granted, Shola has at least scored on that role. Luque needs time, which is probably something we have little of (and he's already been here a while) as Shola is bound to get injured with his hip.
6. Jet - Cold Hard Bitch Just booked tickets to see them at Manchester Uni - £15! Lookin forward to seeing them
7. Half time, 1 - nil up even with one striker up front. Not a bad position to be in. Need a second early in the 2nd half, then shut up shop. Parker seems to be leading by example. Our midfield needs to keep chipping in with the goals as Shola's not going to get many on his own I reckon.
8. Saw them live last December - probably the loudest indoor gig I've been too. They were class. Now listening to the match
9. 176555 B)B)B)B)B)B)B)B) 179187 We need a guitar smiley! Those will have to do! Oh and aye, listening to black dog too, seeing as you all suggested it
10. Yeah, I think it is IIRC. I really struggle with a fair amount of the YM stuff as I find him a bit of a one trick pony No accounting for taste eh?
11. Seen Vai live about 6 or 7 times now and Sheehan has been with him the last 2 or 3. Ridiculously talented. 176920 Aye, seen him once at the Apollo in Manchester - he had another guitarist who looked like he was in his early 20's at best. They were insanely good. At one point all three were playing 'bits' of each others instruments whilst they were still wearing them - i.e Vai strums Sheehans bass whilst working the frets of the other guitarist and Sheehan is strumming Vais etc.... Makes you want to leave your guitar in it's case out of shame...... 176979 Tony Macalpine was the young lad I think. Does an impressive solo bit on his acoustic iirc. Mike Keneally was used before him and was outstanding too. short fat bald bloke with stubby fingers. 176991 If you ignore the 'bald' bit, the short, fat bloke with stubby fingers could also describe Yngvie Malmsteen - who plays with them on the DVD I have. He's wearing tight black leather strides with his shirt undone most of the way down (complete with flouncy cuffs) - he looks like 80's Dad rocker who still thinks he's 25..... not pretty
12. Yeah, not tried VLC on my PC. Irritating thing is, they used to work fine with Windows Media. I'll see what Gemmil says when he sees my post. It will help establish if it's me or NW.

14. yeh at the moment im going purely for melody having a lot of fun like. Best one so far is ' I wanna be adored by the stone roses and The same mistakes by the cooper temple clause 176885 Try 'Shoot You Down'. Pure class if you're drummer is any good.
15. Yeah, tried that and it's the same. It happens if I play it in both rela player and Windows Media. Here's an example: Last night I tried to watch the 'The Roeder Review - Job Done' clip. Same problem. Now have you looked at that one and it's ok? If so, then the question's answered really.
16. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm sure someone will tell me if it's not. Has anyone else had problems with the audio in the high quality version of the clips? Most of the ones I look at play reeeaaaaalllly slow. You know how the voices go really low when you slow video down? Just trying to work out if it's me or the site.
17. Lol, you must have typed that whilst I was writing mine.
18. Mr Big - Free. Andy Fraser plays a bass lead over the top of Kossoff and the style in which the bass line is played is lovely - not particularly complicated (although the solo's a bit more taxing) but it's how you play it that sets this one apart. The live version on the 'Best of Free' is a good example. There are loads of Zep ones you should get into as John Paul Jones was class - but then I think you already know that Some of Mani's bass lines on the first Stone Roses album are canny as well - again it's down to how you play them, not how complicated they are. V melodic. However, if you fancy something something that will make your fingers bleed - listen to Billy Sheehan. He plays with Steve Vai now, I think he used to play with King Crimson and a band called Mr Big IIRC (crap 80's rock). I've got a live Vai DVD and he's jamming with the band on his guitar, fret w**king. What ever he plays, Sheehan plays back to him on his bass. Not for mere mortals....
19. Just like listening to the sound of yourself eh Tom? Good choice of bass though - it's got a more full bodied sound than some of the others. You really are axe-mad aren't you? If it has strings - I reckon you'd play it Cue T-Keith's next purchase - a double bass, or a violin (after all you can get electric ones.... although I don't reckon you'd look as good in a dress as Vanessa Mae did )
20. Aye, Razorlight's new album is more then just canny I'm thinking (despite me thinking it was bobbins compared to their first album after my first listen). Anyway, just deliberately listening to a random mix of stuff that doesn't make it onto my regular playlist like Slash's Snakepit (Shine) and Reef (Higher Vibration), but my favorite track from the Chilli's new album had to sneak on 'cos the flea's bass line is just feckin' mint - Tell Me Baby.
