Just bought a new car and my old car kit is a: on it's way out and b: not compatible with the new car stereo (although I could buy a new audio lead). Any suggestions/recommendations? The Parrot ones seem like the ones to go for, but I'm open to suggestion. Does anyone have one of the MKi9xxx series?

I wondered if it was the end for him a few months ago, but hoped he would recover. Partially for my own selfish reasons tbh as I missed seeing them in Manchester last year and I'd would have liked to have seen them. The man could scream like - but had power with it, unlike many of his contemporaries. Proper Rock Legend.

I definitely want one of these. Portable guitar rig for your iPhone. Plug your guitar in and off you go. This is genius: iRig

This is the official position from the Lib Dem spokesperson on the Labour-Lib Dem talks, for what it's worth: "Key members of Labour's negotiating team gave every impression of wanting the process to fail and Labour made no attempt at all to agree a common approach with the Liberal Democrats on issues such as fairer schools funding for the most deprived pupils and taking those on low incomes out of tax. It became clear to the Liberal Democrats that certain key Labour cabinet ministers were determined to undermine any agreement by holding out on policy issues and suggesting that Labour would not deliver on proportional representation and might not marshal the votes to secure even the most modest form of electoral reform. It is clear that some people in the Labour Party see opposition as a more attractive alternative to the challenges of creating a progressive, reforming government, not least in the context of a Labour leadership election campaign." Thanks Meenz, I couldn't remember where I'd read that. Also, it was on the news last night that Labour admitted to not wanting to entertain the coalition - labelling the LibDems as ridiculous or something. I can't for the life of me remember what they were labelled as and I'm sure it came from a female member of the Labour party too. God I'm crap.....

I've said as much earlier. Particularly the last bit. Thing is though, it hasn't just come from the Lib Dems that Labour weren't arsed. Labour have said they weren't arsed either. It pisses me off a little though it the above is true as it shows cowardice on the part of Labour imo. Let some else make the unpopular decisions so they can score off the resulting unrest. Those decisions need making whomever is in power and in some respects - I think it should have been Labour making those decisions to repair some of the damage they played their part in. I am pretty sure Labour would have preferred to have won the Election, and are of the opinion that their plans would have been better for the country than the libdemcon. Cowardice is a bit of a ridiculous accusation My suggestion of cowardice was aimed at their preference to move into opposition rather than form a coalition and implement their plan. Surely if they believed strongly enough in it, then they would have done whatever it took to action said plan - if it was for the good of the country?

People have mentioned that this might tame the Tory nutters. Tbf, hopefully this will do the same for the Liberal nutters too! Joking aside, we need to see how this goes. There seems to have been concessions on both sides which is encouraging. If the reports are to be believed that Labour were not prepared to entertain the Lib Dems then they only have themselves to blame. I guess this means there could also be some truth the to rumours that Cameron rang Clegg after the election and had an amicable conversation with him; Brown rang him and ranted CT, wind your neck in a bit mate. This whole situation has flaws on all sides and is hardly a shining victory. I can appreciate peoples concerns about jobs - particularly those in Public Sector. I voted Conservative for a number of reasons, yet my wife works in the Public Sector. I'm not yet convinced that the scaremongering about Public Sector cuts will all be true, but for a country spending beyond it's means; there has to be cuts somewhere and Public Sector is a prime candidate. As someone who has worked in the Public Sector in the past (within the last 5 years) - in a Labour-controlled environment at that; I have witnessed examples of the wastage being discussed. For people talking about the Tories and jobs for the boys - sorry, but Labour were just as bad. We had a number of people working at the place I was at who were employed only because they were a Labour Councillor. They spent all their time on that and not on the job they were being paid to do. I might not be in the NE any longer, but here in the NW - many of the same issues prevail. Things like the dependency on benefits over getting a fucking job Just my :twocents: anyway. For the record, I didn't/dont believe in all of the Tory policies, but I believed even less in the policies of the others. EDIT: Something else I meant to add. As ever, I try to look at things from all angles and with my cynical head on, I had the following thought: Labour ignored the Lib Dems, made the coalition impossible to force the situation. Brown had lost the confidence of the party and there was a big shift in the public. Why not let the Con_Lib coalition get into power, make the necessary savage cuts which we will all hate; then when it falls down in 6-12months they get to ride in like some shining knight with a new leader (Milliband) to rescue us from the nasty Tories. Negative perception reversed and all is forgotten

Ouch! Not good at all... Removed the keyboard and the damage wasn't as bad as I feared. Managed to clean it up and I now have a working 10v again.

True, but if you miss out the MP bit there are links to various newspapers, the Labour party, her own site, and even an entry on wikipedia. You know you've arrived when you're on wiki. Aye, the Wiki link was the 2nd I clicked on. Just made me chuckle when this thread is the 1st result shown for her
-
Worryingly for her - doing a Google for "Bridget Phillipson MP" has this thread as the 1st returned result. Some of the comments on her will help other people (including her constituents) find out more about her Sorry pet For those of you who have read this far - "She really is quite nice and more sensible than she used to be "

Just traded my old Xbox Premium (20gb model) for a new Xbox Arcade. As I'd bought a 120gb drive off eBay I only needed an Arcade so I could upgrade to HDMI. Game had a sale on last week and it only cost me £40. 1080p loveliness Also, not so much of a 'What have you bought' but more of a 'What I am probably going to have to buy' - Mrs Paws just rang me all upset. Apparently Charlotte's just projectile vomited and some of it landed on my recently purchased (and upgraded) Dell Mini10v netbook. Now it won't turn on....

I'll say one thing (which has been said earlier) whomever wins tonight has their work cut out for them because as a country we are still in the shite. It's going to get worse before it gets better. Regardless of the party that gets in, business is going to suffer one way or another. Some harsh decisions will have to be made and its going to hurt imo.

Why the fuck is this happening in 2010? I first voted in the 80s and I can't remember it happening before. If it's a hugely increased turnout is it down to the leader's tv debates? Is it that theres a huge amount of people want to get out there and give Broon a severe kicking in the ballots? Fuckin weird...but I rememeber when Bush jnr first got in there was uproar when police prevented voters from getting near the polling stations where his opponenet was expected to do well...it'sll be interesting to see where the queues were told to go home It's been pointed out on the BBC that the numbers turning up to vote have not been higher than has been successfully handled in the past - so in that respect it doesn't make sense. As I've said above - I can think of a few reasons why people would be voting later in the evening; but to be fair, those reasons would have equally applied 20/30 yrs ago. So in saying that, I can't see why its resulted in problems this time around.

Yeh people can't complain. It's enough time to get there and pop a card in a box. Tbf, if you dont get in from work until after 6pm (I dont normally get in until after 6pm) and the queue is already very long, then its hardly surprising. I work about 3/4hour away from home and its not like I could nip out at lunch to do it. I'm sure I'm not alone. Bring kids, tea time and the bedtime routine into the equation and the evening is gone All joking aside, I think its a little churlish to blame people for not getting there early enough when I can think of several reasons why people could be delayed. There's the option of postal votes though. I have no sympathy on those who've missed out on time however those who've been unable to vote because the polling station has run out of ballot papers is an absolute disgrace. I have to disagree with you there mate. I would never have thought of doing a postal vote as I have always intended to vote in person. Are you saying that someone who turns up 45mins before the polling station closes but gets stuck in a queue only has themselves to blame?????

What time do you start? ( ) On the client site for 9am. I have to take my son to nursery on the way though and need to have him there for 8am or I hit the motorway at the worst time. At a real push I possibly could have done it before leaving for work but it would have added 20mins or so to my morning. As it happens, I was able to do it this afternoon as I ended up working from home this afternoon. My point was that I can understand the possibility for people to struggle to get to a polling station later in the evening.
