  1. Cheers fo the link - one for the bookmarks.
  2. Sorry guys, I've not had chance to get on here much recently and I missed all of this. Thanks for the birthday wishes!
  3. Finally switched back and bought myself a Mac (15" MBP) and I'm loving it. However, I cant seem to find Mac players for stuff like Sopcast so I can watch to footy. Before I start fannying around with VMWare or 'Crossover & Bottles' - any better ideas?
  4. Can I get in on the link love please. Mrs Paws took my hints and bought me one. Amazon still haven't feckin' delivered it yet despite it being billed as arriving before the 22nd (my birthday). Not that I'm impatient or nothing......... .....alright WHERE MY FECKIN BIRTHDAY PRESENT!!!!!!!!!!!! sod it... I'll just have to have another Gin & Tonic then
  5. Basically summed up in 2 sentences but its not NUST as an entity, its three people who have built themselves an empire and surrounded themselves with people who'll agree whatever they do. There are/were good people on the board who just wanted NUFC fans to have representation, who just wanted to create something that fans could be part of and feel proud to be associated with. An EGM is not far away, as soon as we know the numbers required it'll be organised and then the shit really will hit the fan. Pud, you and I have spoken about this and although I dont think I share the same views as some on here regarding what the direction of the NUST/C should be, I think we're all in agreement the current direction is wrong. As I said - I'll sign back up if it will help to change things, if only to help vote out the current lot. But for now, as someone who no longer even lives in the area I dont feel there's much I can do and as a member I have no voice - so what's the point. Its such a shame though because its going to make it really difficult for anyone else to try and pick this up even if the current board are voted out. People are so disenfranchised now that I feel it would be an uphill struggle for anyone to pick up. I'd rather we reined in our expectations and ideas and concentrate on building a decent supporters club. Once we have that in place, perhaps a trust could/should follow. Little Acorns etc....
  6. There is a series of "lullaby" albums called Rockabye Baby! doing something similar with everyone from NIN to the Ramones, the Pixies, Metallica, etc. All glockenspiel and type instruments which when listening to something like the Nirvana or Ramones album are quite bizarre. Funny thing is the Radiohead one, sounds exactly like Radiohead - so make of that what you will? Downloaded that for my kids a year or 2 ago! Will give that a listen KD, providing I can find it(don't have spotify). Yeah, I got a few for mine too. Something definitely not right about listening to Highway to Hell being played on a Xylophone They aren't bad though.
  7. My thirst is now quenched. Ended up with a round of 3 drinks Cheers!
  8. I knew it was a bad idea leaving him out of my fantasy squad...
  9. Sure mate, get a drink. haha, clever bastard.
  10. Bloody hell its thirsty here in the office. Can anyone help quench my thirst? Cheers!
  11. You're in good company pal. Tom and I are both massive fans also. Have you seen him live yet? Yeah, seen him twice, once at Guilfest (small fest down here, but gets some decent acts, Motorhead seem particularly fond of it) where he headlined their second stage and way too many people tried to cram into the space to see him. Was pissing rain so bits of Sloe Gin got even bigger cheers than normal! And then again at Hammersmith this year. Missed the RAH cos I was out of the country when it was being publicised, completely gutted to miss that one. One of my all time favourite musicians. Have you seen him? Yeah, I've seen him 3 or 4 times now (sounds daft - criminally, I can remember 3) and he is class. Seeing as you mentioned it, I'm now listening to the BCC album. There's some lovely stuff on there too. Down Again is a mint track for me - serious riff. JB clearly has his influences and in fairness; he's not shy about admitting to them - Clapton being one of his greatest. When you listen to Sista Jane though - the solo at the end imo is clearly (one of) his homage's to Clapton (specifically Cream). If you push me, I'll even name the track I think he's homag(ing) if that's a word..... .... but not if you dont guess first
  12. It was also Steve Howe's guitar of choice for a while IIRC. Fuck me why I remember this shit and less about more recent guitarists (of whom I like) ....
  13. Its surprising who play's tele's given that they seem to be the strat's poor(er) cousin. Even the boys from Quo are noted for their tele preference. Having played (but don't own) one - I have this unerring desire for one - but can't quite place WHY. I just do. I think some guitarists aspire to be, using their guitar choice; whereas others inspire and their choice is secondary and influenced by a quest for a certain sound. I'll go as far as to include myself in that. Started off playing a strat 'cos Clapton played one and in fairness; I probably play a Les Paul 'cos Page, Slash and a couple of my other hero's play(ed) them. As I've gotten older I guess I've grown to understand them differently and appreciate (read understand) the different sounds and why I like them. Back on topic - my contribution is Iommi and the SG 108. Him and Angus might have the association because of the horns, but that's secondary. I believe it's down to the width of the neck and the pickup sound. Noel Gallagher plays an Epiphone ES-355, not a Gibson one. I'd agree he's eponymous for the Union Jack one (although he plays a few) - but he also favours a Std Les Paul for many tracks also; so I'm not convinced which is his preferred choice.
  14. You're in good company pal. Tom and I are both massive fans also. Have you seen him live yet?
  15. Born Dec '76 so 5th in the 76/77 season. EDIT: Noelie, are you seriously an Septuagenarian?
  16. We have it in use to beat all 5 if I have my optimistic glasses on. Arsenal are not unbeatable, however its unlikely we will, unless we hit them on an off day. A draw would be fantastic. As for the other 4, if we play with width in midfield and a back 4 of Enrique, Colo, Williamson & Simpson then a win is achievable; because we're strong enough at the back to handle their forwards and (assuming they get the service) a front pairing of Shola & Carroll should prove too strong for them. Having said all of that, we've lost games we should have won this season (Stoke, Wolves, Blackpool to name 3) - hence my reserved outlook.

    Carroll

Wouldn't be the first time a footballer had been unfailry accused.....and having his car torched suggests there's a bit of a radgie vendetta. I agree, I'm hoping that shows she's mental and that supports his defence. Depends if they can prove its her/related to her.
  18. Fulham are beatable, as are Blackburn. Problem is, we aren't creative enough at the minute to exploit the defensive natures of both those clubs. Arsenal away - despite our good away form - will likely be a loss. We just aren't good enough to either contain or beat their midfield. Having said that, lesser clubs have done it. As for the Makems, normally I blindly say we'll beat them - home or away; but I'd be a fool if I said that this season. Bruce has them organised and we're hit & miss. Having said that, I think we'll get something against them at SJP. I'll say 5 or 6.

    Carroll

He's done well to end up with just a fine, although perhaps its because the CCTV footage proved it was not as bad as was first made out. I fear though that unless it can be proved that this lass attacked him first and all he did was restrain her, it will not go well for him. Woman + previous + doubt = Not good for AC
  20. Aye. He got kicked all over the park in that game and the ref gave him nothing. He did really well to just keep playing and not rise to it. He's not put a foot wrong this season so far imo. I think some of this on-field problems with passing etc is coming form lack of match practice. He's getting better with games which is good as he's going to be a key player for us this season. His cross for the 2nd was class and he was involved in the 1st iirc.

    Carroll

Nolan will get fatter now with Carroll making all the cuppa's. I've been following that. Made me smile on a couple of occasions
  22. As did I and yes it is. It's getting to the point where I wish they'd just fuck off actually. Their comms are as cringworthy and ill-conceived as the clubs tbh.
  23. That says everything to me about the vew of certain board members. The attitude that people arent renewing because theyre not bright enough to understand democracy. For a start its not a fiver for everyone and aside from that it's like they just expect us to had it over. In fact it's like we're at fault for not doing it! I didn't vote for what we have. So, if I can't have what I wanted, then I can choose not to pay my money. Are they saying that regardless of that fact, I should continue to fund the people pushing the NUST in a direction I dont want to go in?
  24. Polo. The Fabia, Seat Ibiza and new little Audi (A1?) are all re-badged Polo's The Skoda Octavia, Seat Leon and A3 are all Golfs underneath. The Octavia is the A4 / Passat isn't it? I know the A3 /Golf & Leon are all basically the same car (The Sharan is a Golf Plus too IIRC) but the Octavia is then next class up I'm sure. Having said that, I dont own one so I could be wrong. They just look that size.
