  1. O/T (mostly) but Radio 2 are broadcasting a recent Bad Company gig from BBC Maida Vale this coming Sat - 10pm. Video will be available via Iplayer after 11pm. Apparently they (will) play both Free and Bad COmpany stuff. Most of you wont care about this, but I know Leazes will. Just to rub it in mate, I'll taking my Dad to see them this Friday - 8-10 rows from the front
  2. Yeah, I thought Perch was a star player for them last night. He had Jonas in his pocket for most of the game. In fairness to him, Shola was forced to shoot from such an angle he could not have had a clear sight of goal. That was down to Perch blocking his view, so I thought their criticism of him was harsh. 9/10 times Shola's shot would not have gone in as it would have been blocked. That's not to take anything away from Shola though. He had the balls and the confidence to pull it off and he placed it exactly where it needed to be. Perch just made it (much) harder for him to do so.
  3. For those of you not at the match, you might find this small tributary useful Requires a plugin
  4. Its a game I feel we can win, but I don't expect it to be easy. Forest are a decent side but they have struggled of late and their away form is poor. They were the better side when we played them earlier in the season and IIRC their wing play was much better than ours. We were struggling for a decent right winger and Guti was our only (misfiring) outlet down the left. Fast forward to today and I think it's the opposite. They have lost their balance and a combination of injuries and Jan sales has upset the side. We have two wingers who are capable of getting forward and defenders who overlap. We're more organised in midfield since we moved Guthrie into the middle. On paper we are much the better side, but this being NUFC means that we'll no doubt make life more difficult for ourselves.
  5. Someone I know was there. He said is was really something. Shame that it's gone relatively unnoticed. Would love to see some more pictures.
  6. Aye. Quality film that and the soundtrack is class too. a little private thread within a thread Well.... private in so much as confined to the members following this thread and therefore reading every post

    Wireless

I'd disconnect the router and plug the laptop directly into the Virgin box. Then try again. If it works, you know its the wireless router, if it doesn't; you can get on the phone to Virgin
  8. Aye, the small tributary is poor tonight.
  9. That pic in the Echo really doesn't help matters. It's clearly meant to look like a photo of the event (even though there are clearly fans in the background). Dont let the facts (or lack of) get in the way of a good story eh? If he's done it I'd love to know why before I make a judgement on him (although it would have to be pretty good to justify a broken jaw). Nice to see our time in the CCC hasn't inhibited our ability to shoot ourselves in the foot. Finger is still firmly poised over the self-destruct button.
  10. Oh and I've just bought a new Sealy Posturpedic bed from Tesco Direct of all places. £800 down to £400, less £50 off via Quidco plus £20 cashback. Tried the bed in another shop then bought it from Tesco's - result! *I say tried - I dont mean I went for a kip in the shop
  11. Virgin Media XXL (the 50Mb one) is unlimited as far as I can tell - I used to get throttled on the 20Mb but not since the upgrade. That will change I'm sure once the numbers increase. Virgin are the worst ISP I've ever had in 15+ years of being an ISP subscriber.
  12. The Dell Mini10v arrived last week and after major open box surgery it's been upgraded from an 8gbSSD & 1gb RAM to 2gb Ram, 320gb SATA and a Bluetooth module. It now happily dual boots OSX Snow Leopard and Windows 7. A 10" Macbook for £200 On a different note, I finally got round to buying Fifa10 for the 360. £24 from Shopto with free next day, recorded signed for delivery. I am very impressed. Ordered 16:20 on Thursday, got text at 16:32 to say it had been dispatched. Arrived following morning with the rest of the post.
  13. O2 own Be btw so you end up running on the same network. If you are an O2 customer, you get a reduced rate (£7.50 for the base package) which is great. I'm a Be customer and an O2 customer. I haven't switched yet because I had all kinds of ISP issues a couple of years ago when I ended up moving between Demon>Sky (couldn't ftp)>Virgin(0.1mb speed)>Be (great). I'm scared to move again even though it's technically the same company. I use mine for work purposes and I need something which is quick and reliable. I'm worried that if I switch to a consumer brand like O2 I might eventually end up in the same boat as I was with Sky/Virgin. Be are more expensive, but apart from a few router problems (wireless disconnects - fixed with firmware upgrade) Be have been excellent. As a dedicated ISP, I think its worth sticking with them for now (although the £10/mth saving is really tempting). Both my Brother and Father in Law are with O2 and have no problems. Well, other than the fact I cant reliably connect to wor kid on XBL - but that's a separate issue (a looooooooooooong ongoing one at that). My Dad would be with O2 if he was in a suitable area. BT are consistently shite at many things though.
  14. Mick Lowes asking of we should twist or stick? Twist man!!!! We can beat this shower!!!
  15. I will have to catch it on iplayer! Yes, yes you will
  16. Radio 2 - live. Joe Bonamassa on the Paul Jones show recording at Maida Vale. Fuck me is he good.
  17. Thats the ones. I had the black home ones.
  18. Maybe, but they also did it with the home shorts; as those were the ones I had.
  19. I think thats the point? Didn't we do something similar with our shorts in the season of the grandad collar? Was white IIRC with black/blue stitching. I'd check when I get home only I'm sure I've chucked them out now on account of being too fat to fit into them
  20. It's no dilemma. As long as he's fit, he should play in the middle and I'd rotate between Smith and Nolan alongside him as required. Routledge plays RW if he's fit and either Pancake or Raylor if he's not. imo, there no place for Guthrie in the team if CH plays Nolan/Smith in the centre as Routledge/Pancake/Raylor offer more on the right than he does - like actually playing on the right! I'd much rather we dropped Smith/Nolan to accommodate him though as Guthrie offers far more to our attacking play than Smith/Nolan put together! Nolan frustrates me as he can be anon for most of a game, but he does chip in with goals, so it's difficult to rule him out. Smith offers more strength in the middle but doesn't offer the goals. On the subject of selling, I'd keep Nolan over Smith but in reality; Nolan is a far more saleable asset given his goals this season.
  21. I may well be interested Steve. Let me check with 'er indoors and see what she says Sorry mate, too late. I sold them yesterday via ebay.
