Thanks for the update tooj BTW if anyone likes playing in classic mode and wants the update to work there is a little workaround for it. 1 - You load the first full (non-classic) game with the editor data. 2 -When you see the countries go back to the menu with the back button 3 - Now Start a game with FM Classic. 4 - If all is well you can now select the country and work the attached leagues and editor data.

I think the focus and limit of ambition from the board is always going to be staying in the premier league and keeping that TV money coming in. Feeling genuinely threatened that that might not be the case next year is whats brought on this window I reckon.
