  1. Yup. I think it is a naivity that spreads across quite a few English managers. Hodgson has the same problem with England(See Downing in the latest internationals, picked to play for England due to his West Ham performances... Hodgson plays him out of position for national team ) it's an age old thing, but play your best player in their best position. Versatility is important for modern players, but if you set your watch by it you are not going to command games; you are stratificating to suit the opposition rather than dictating zonal positioning in a game. Also, you will stunt the natural growth of special players if you are asking them to be the jack of many trades rather than the master of one. Wilshire suffers from this a bit. Few teams have been successful while consistently playing several square pegs in round holes.
  2. He's definitely stepped up like. Whether he can maintain it and be consistent is his thing though. Compared to where he was a year ago, he has come on leaps and bounds.
  3. Be interesting to see what happens to Sissoko positionally when De Jong is fit again.
  4. Yup, you have to wonder when the right he has earned - to decide for himself when he leaves - end. He was so forward thinking when he came to the PL, introduced British football to a continental, 21st century style of play. Mad to think that it has become outdated. Too stubborn to accept that football has adapted and moved on since his traditional 'Wenger' tactics were at the forefront.
  5. And we can stop that fucking hoof ball shite an arl.
  6. I agree completely. Raylor off has completely stunted our momentum. Can't see it building up with the formation currently used.
  7. Taylor knee can't have gone again man. Nee way...
  8. I see Klopp has issued a 'come and get me' to PL clubs. Can't help but think he will end up at City in the summer, with Arsenal missing out on a manager they should have targeted to succeed Wenger.
  9. I remember when the Tories released via twitter the Beer and Bingo incentive 'for hard working people to do the things they enjoy', a Thick of It writer came out and said they would have rejected it as too far-fetched. British politics has been in self-satire mode for about 3 years now.
  10. Merson, all day long. Two footed to the knees inside the first minute.
  11. I enjoyed that game a lot more than I thought I would. Scotland's goal was fantastic, really lovely bit of play that if it had been scored by a bigger team everyone would be creaming over it. But England's third was something special like. So well worked, couldn't believe it was England. Wilshire and Rooney were cracking. It was like seeing Rooney 10 years ago when he played all the time like he was sexually frustrated. The home nations definitely should play each other more often.

    Boycoutt?

Jesus. That's absurd. Though nothing yet on BBC or SSN about how its quite clearly intended to 'be seen to be doing something.' Morons.

    Boycoutt?

I admire your forethought, but there's nee chance there will be a boycott. While the FA may support it in principle, there's so much sponsorship money invested in it that I'd imagine they would rather put pressure on a publication of Garcia's full report and an uprooting of all the apparent corruption, than risk product advertisement and whatnot. I would love a boycott, I fucking despise what FIFA is now. but it would take something pretty damning to be in the report for it to be a multinational thing. Which, obviously we must push for first.
  14. Despite the scoreline, I've been impressed by Lascelles in the U21s. His movement and instinct is good. Also, what is the crack with Tom Ince? Is he playing well at Forest? Had a canny game tonight but he's 22 now. Can't be promising forever... Basically I haven't seen forest play for a few months.
  15. No quality filter that's why though. With social media, punditry has expanded and so anyone can get on their soap box. Collymore, Savage et al are merely on the shite-talking fringes of it.
  16. Bellamy has been, throughout his career, arguably the biggest twat in football. Such a horrible, bitter little rat. Mackems get good turnout like, must be said.
  17. Aguero is absolutely immense. Toure is past his best. Still an awesome player, but just doesn't give a shit anymore. It's almost as if city's players are all mercenaries who don't care that much about repeating success and creating a legacy for the club... It feel so wrong saying this about Man City but as AH said, they need to spend more to go further in Europe. Aguero is carrying that team like Sanchez is arsenal atm.
  18. Poor bloke. Hope he can get ahead of schedule.
  19. Watching Everton Lille - when did Steven Naismith turn into quite a canny footballer? Seen him play a bit this year and have been impressed, scored a cracker tonight as well.
