  1. Incase anyone missed the Worcester player going radge after a foul
  2. We went through 4 years of embarrassments and gaffes with Pardew, it's at least a possibility that Ashley will appoint him longer. The club is due a clanger.
  3. Carver isn't operating the same way as Pardew. For as much as Pardew was a loathsome growth on our club, he was a better manager/head coach than Carver. The latter sets up from the off like a child on a sugar rush. I'm glad Pardew has left, and will inevitably (albeit reluctantly) hope that in the long term future i.e when we appoint someone who has a tactical clue in the summer, that I can look back and think the change has been an improvement. Then I remember this is Newcastle and Carver might actually get the job knowing that fat twat.
  4. Southampton should have had at least one penalty and Liverpool should have had at least one player sent off. For the rest of the match though, I don't think that Southampton were inventive enough. They look tired.
  5. If you haven't already, check Zun Zun out live. They are great. Seen them two or three times now and each gig has been cracking, loads of energy. One of the times was at the Star and Shadow before they were picked up by their current label. They played for ages to about 10 people into the early hours. Was mint. That Viet Cong new record is fantastic.
  6. Aye, football once again showing itself as the bastion of common sense.
  7. Anyone been keeping up with the Brentford situation with their manager Mark Warburton? Got them promoted from League 1, great win percentage in Championship and challenging for promotion - club have said they aren't going to renew his contract at the end of the season even if they get promoted to Premier League Harsh.
  8. I completely agree with this. For a long time I've thought that our national identity as a football country has been based on emulation rather than innovation. FA had some interesting things to say iirc about the TV rights deal and the percentage that would eventually trickle down to grassroots football. They didn't make much attempt to hide the fact that the money generated by the £5bn+ deal would mean little in real terms for grassroots.
  9. excellent. By the way, your Ayatollah Hermione signature basically says what I was trying to, but more succinctly.
  10. To be fair, I'd had a few last night as well and my post was born from a moment of frustration and exhaustion at the club. I just find it hard to understand how people can take that amount of shite from Ashley et al, bitterly complain about it, and still pack out the stadium. Surely there's got to be a point where you say 'enough is enough'? If not in any protest, then surely for your own peace of mind. I love the club, I love its supporters. But to go to the toon nowadays feels like you are part of a mass lobotomy. There is absolutely nothing there. The footy is shite, but we've had shite football before. What is really bad is the atmosphere. I know that on a Saturday people want to go and watch some footy, and that's great. But going to St. James' now, you aren't going to watch football, you are going to watch the application of a conservative business model. I agree with what you say about packing in a sky subscription, though it makes no difference. Football has become a dark parody of itself.
  11. You'd have to piss on the graves of their parents to get a notable rise out of half the drones who are happy to pay their money every other week. It's been years of shite now and we are still turning in huge attendances. What will it actually take for people to stop going to the games in protest?
  12. Aye, wheel him off to the asylum at the end of the season as he repeatedly shouts from his stretcher 'Did a do good Bobby?'
  13. Re-reading it over and over again off a print out to himself and anyone around.
  14. Anyone watching Chelski/PSG? Chelsea looking good value for their 1-0 lead. They are the better team and Blanc is limited tactically.
  15. Saw him in Uno's Trattoria down the quayside about a year and a half ago. It was about 6p.m and he came in on his own. I've never seen someone look as sad as he did over a steaming bowl of minestrone soup.
