  1. Anyone listened to Sweet Valley? It's all I've listened to for the past few months. Can download all of their stuff for free (except their first album) from their band camp http://sweetvalley.bandcamp.com.
  2. This thread has been hilarious @yourservice quality work mate, get some more on the gan
  3. Cloud Nothings - Turning On LP is great.
  4. Aye its embarrassing. Really is disgraceful their carry on.
  5. Aye. Definitely an important game now. The place could start to sour big time if we don't get a result.
  6. No, I do not think that is a given by any stretch. It would be so... 'Newcastle'... to go on a horrendous record breaking run of results from now til the end of the season, resulting in our relegation. People saying that this isn't such a big deal because we will get someone else in in the summer are mental. This is yet another grim day for Newcastle under Ashley. Dark days ahead I think. I'm not going back to watch another game this season. I respect other people's decision to, but you've got to be mad to go and 'support the club not the regime' week in week out these days. 52,000 bitches of Mike Ashley.
  7. If the threat of getting chinned provided footballers with motivation, it would be a much easier world. We are 100% in for a rough time now like. No leaders on the pitch at all. Carver as much of Ashley's bitch as Pardew. The sooner we get to 40 points the better. Good old Newcastle United existence drone, I needed you again. Fuck this club.
  8. If he has got it til the end of the season, would this be the earliest we have resorted to just 'getting the rest of season over with and preparing for the next'? I swear it gets earlier and earlier each year.
  9. Yeah, this is what I think. Charnley coming out and saying it was just stating the already obvious and accepted.
  10. It's hard to be anything other than fatalistic about it like... But everyone has a limit. So does a businessman who, however the fans may like it or not, is achieving the level of success to the extent of his personal interest and financial gain. People are thick, and as you said in your previous post a lot of people appear brainless sheep in their unquestioning support of Newcastle United even via Mike Ashley's interest. But it is important to hope that there is a way to heap a pressure on him that would be too much of a hassle for him to bother with any more. He clearly doesn't give a shit about personal taunts on bedsheets. He even accepts incredibly damaging PR time and time again, actively seeking out WONGA and everything else. But he does give a shit about money, that is the only thing he is bothered about. Stop his business from profiting as well as it is. Fans do still have the capacity to hurt him there. It is a question of if/when the majority of supporters can collectively realise that and accept that they shouldn't go to the footy in the short term so that the long term outlook is positive. But people are thick. And I'm not sure whether I have much faith in a lot of the public.
  11. He's quality on his day. But that was about 4 year ago. Sounds like a korma could be fatal for him now, poor bloke.
  12. Cringeworthy stuff from Chronicle yet again: http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/lee-charnley-right-man-take-8501507 Mind, the comment section did make me chuckle - 'PieMan and SlapHeed are as fit to run the Toon as Saville was to run a creche.'
  13. Apparently they are preparing a huge bid to take Premier League off BBC/MOTD. The immediate effect of the change suggests that something has gone on behind the scenes. Good riddance he was god awful. As was Townsend. Hopefully some people can be brought in with a bit more passion now and a modicum of knowledge. Won't hold my breath for Ray Hudson just yet though.
  14. Great read. RIP Junior Malanda also, haven't been on here recently and not sure whether there was a thread about it or not. Fantastic young player, such a waste.
  15. One of the most disturbing aspects about this (and Newcastle as a whole) debacle is the lack of any interrogation - not a hint of criticism - into the setup of the club in the national media and press. The narrative that has been constructed is that we should be grateful for the club's situation. Voices of dissent aimed at the club's hierarchy are roundly mocked as ill-informed and bred from a delusion that is unique to Newcastle. Contrast that with other clubs going through difficult times at the minute. Fair enough the situations are different, but the voice of supporters in the instances of Villa, Everton, Rangers, Man Utd last season, Liverpool fans (re: Suarez support, Rodgers bashing, and everything else) the long suffering Arsenal fans bitching about Wenger. None of these cases inspire anything near the vitriolic outrage that the ungrateful Geordies deserve. In a moment in football where fans are so far away from being involved with club decisions, where money has inflated and elevated the sport so far beyond its viewers, you would think that there would be a few more pundits and journalists supporting a group of fans who have every right to feel aggrieved, as their club has been transformed into a business. I just do not understand why we are the exception to the sentimental popular narrative (however true or false it may be) in football that the fans are the club. When West Brom and Palace lost their managers last month, their search for a new manager was the first piece on every sports site, was the main topic on every sports radio station. I suppose you could argue that after 4 weeks or whatever, people lose interest and the search for a new manager at Newcastle United may not be as big a story as it was initially. But fuck that. Even when Pardew left, it was more about where he was going than where he was leaving. There has been so little critical attention given in the national press to what is going on at Newcastle that it is no wonder that fans are left to feel that there is at best a complete indifference to the club, and at worst active contempt offered by those outside the area. I really do not like conspiracy theories. They are narratives constructed by people who cant accept the world is as unsymmetrical and illogical as it is. I can't help but leap to conclusions in this instance regarding Newcastle. What the fuck is going on? Where are the people in football, in football media who are willing to question how on earth a football club like Newcastle United can go off the rails so much, lose all its passion (the atmosphere at St James these days is appalling)? The biggest question for me is though, why is no one asking whether it is right that a club should be run the way Newcastle currently is? I just don't get it. Even if Stan Collymore or other cretins like him who are somehow given air time on tv or radio, even if they do have a genuine personal hatred of Newcastle, I can accept that and get over it. But the situation at the club is significant for so many more than Toon supporters. When football accepts people like Ashley and his model, when it accepts the fact that the voice of the fans means the square root of fuck all anymore, then football, not just the club in question, is fucked. Newcastle is rotten. When Pardew left, we got rid of the fruit, not the root.
