1. Any American Sitcom that the BBC buys is doomed to failure because they refuse to give them a run in a suitable spot. It's all bought as late night filler. Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Family Guy spring to mind as others that could be huge but the BBC refuse to give a good slot. I suppose they have to justify the license fee with original British comedy, but I wish they'd leave it to channel 4 rather than buying it and fucking with it.
2. Electric Light Orchestra - Mr Blue Sky Sounds just like the Beatles, but better than anything the Beatles did.
3. Fiery Furnaces - Rehearsing My Choir
4. Just watched it. Absoloutley mother fucking tip top. I thought it was going to be too quirky for my taste, a bit Royal Tennanbaumy but it wasn't at all. It was more cute, I never thought "well that's just silly" like I thought I would. Brandon Ratcliff is a legend. Fuck Haley Joel Osment. Ratcliff shits all over him in this. Nowt like watching a 7 year old kid describe a Monroe transfer ))<>(( Everyone should watch it. 76071 Fucking strange movies you're watching! 76087 Oops, that didn't come out right. Just to clarify - HJO isn't in this film.

6. The odds on the lottery are shite like. 73585 Hence it's name.
7. Hence the pluralisation. Mind you, Desparate Dan never ate Cows Pie. But I suppose you only need one for that. Fish Pie? is that the plural or not? Fishes isn't a word. I've really got nothing to do. I love work after a holiday.
8. Can't imagine you get much meat off a mouse.
9. Everyone seems to love it so I'm sure I'm wrong but I thought it was shit. Everything in it is covered by one sentance from Mr Macky in South Park "Drugs are bad, mmmkaay". The almost comical depths that every person who touched drugs sinks to is ridiculous. Couldn't one of them have just been very unhappy and in severe pain, rather than emotionally and physically destroyed beyond reality after a few months?
10. What's so 'exciting' about them like? I like them but they're just your standard 4-piece rock band playing pop aren't they? some clever Lyrics. It seems to me people are believing the hype. I'd say to be exciting you need to do something new, like Lightning Bolt or Antony and the Johnsons. 73356 I fail to see any excitment in Antony and the Johnsons personally. 73365 Probably because they aren't in The Sun's Bizarre column often enough. Their record company should really pay off a few more journalists. As I said I really like The Arctic Monkeys, but The Rakes are just as good and their album wasn't pushed half as much. The hypefest that's gone on around them for over a year since I bet that you look good on the dancefloor has irked me. That's all. 73373 Pretty sure it hasnt been out for that long. 73390 Itunes may not have had it that long, but I'm pretty sure it's been 'available' that long. If not, very close.

12. If that left you feeling shit about life I recommend Murderball. It's a quality documentary about paraplegics who play wheelchair rugby. They knock the shit out of each other and love it. Made me ashamed for having ever not grinned. Also watched Enron - The Smartest guys in the Room I never really followed the story at the time but I was shocked at how it all happened. The fact that they were turning off power in Calaforni to drive up their stock price and people were put in danger as a result was disgusting. I'm constantly checking the news now to see how the prosecutions are going. Strongly recommended.

14. Sympathy For Lady Vengeance - Excellent but not as good as Oldboy. Not sure why she shoved her face in the cake like. I can see that it's showing she's taken the vengeance she wanted and she's satisfied so she's metaphorically eating the tofu that starts a released prisoners new life, but did she really need to shove her face in it like that? Bizarre. Dumplings - Best film I've seen this year. About a woman whose husband cheats on her so she's desparate to stop/reverse ageing. She finds someone with the answer - eating aborted feotuses. Apparently it's not as strange as it sounds and has occured throughout China going years back.
15. Isolee - Wearemonster if you like a bit house (standout track - Schrapnell) Girls Aloud - Chemistry if you like a bit pop (standout track - Racey Lacey) The Rakes - Capture/Release if you like a bit guitar (standout track - 22 Grand Job) MF Doom - MM...Food if you like a bit rap (standout track - Rapp Snitch Knishez)
16. Benny Goodman - Sing, Sing, Sing Part 1 & 2.
17. The Lavender Hill Mob - Most entertaining. I'm always amazed by Alec Guiness. The way he spaeks in this is bizarre, I don't know how he gets his mouth into that weird postion. Before Sunrise - I enjoyed it on the whole, but I can't decide if Ethan Hawke was brilliant or shit. He sounded like he was reading his lines out loud, but I guess that was true to the character using his old stories to get into her knickers. He was totally annoying with it though. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - A good laugh. Johnny Depp was very funny.
18. It's worth pointing out that Lewis wrote a prequel to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, called the Magician's nephew. This might explain the nature of Narnia and "deep magic" somewhat. Having said that though, it isn't much cop if you aren't a kid. The later stories are much more your standard fantasy tales and are all the better for it imo. The last book though, called the last battle, is basically a christian jizz fest. It depicts armageddon, and Susan goes to hell for not "believing" in Narnia any more...... 69322 69324 *SPOILERS* (Sorry Gejon, I'd be amazed if they made a film of the last book mind) Did you not see that that the death of Aslan was basically the crucifixion of Christ? 69326 Probably not, apparently it's gay to look for metaphors in a film.
19. The Aristocrats - Funny as owt. The description of a man fisting his daughter with an arm the size of Popeye's was inspired. Batman Begins - I was loving it until he sent lieutenant Gordon the antidote before he was gassed, silly plot point but annoying.
20. Any good? 67240 meh. They were canny I suppose, with the match I'd been on the hoy all day so I was canny pissed and couldn't be arsed. They went down well the young uns though.
21. been looking forward to it for a long time but I've heard its disappointing. Welcome to Dongmakgol came out around the same time (not sure if its on DVD yet though) , it stars the guy who played Mido in Old Boy. Heard good things about it. Might be worth checking out. 67325 Most the reviews I've seen were canny positive Link.
