The Doors Vs The Muppets Vs Los Del Rio M-Ner-M-nu on through to the Macarena.

First rate "I listened to the Beach Boys just a minute ago Wild Honey, it's not their best album but it's still pretty good They've got some funny little love songs on there But its not mainly a Brian Wilson production So it's probably not as good as something like Pet Sounds"

That's what I love about those first 2 clips. He's genuinely disgusted by how the other networks report news. A while back there was the what makes you proud/ashamed to be british thread, and I couldn't believe people said the BBC was shameful. The BBC might occassionally seem biased (they seem to be accused of this by all sides though which suggests they aren't) but you don't see them asking sodding spiritualists about euthenasia, or reporting a 'miracle'.

Anyone watch it? It's very funny, and biting. Yet another example of how f**ked up US news media is. Jon Stewart rips into the news media pundits

Just had a look at that on imdb, might be worth a look. Why don't you download it, watch it, and if you like it, buy it? 103560 That's you that is. -

Der Untergang seems very popular, has anyone seen Solntse (The Sun)? It's meant to be similar but focuses on Japanese Emperor Hirohito and Japan's defeat in World War II. It's a russian film directed by Aleksandr Sokurov who did Russian Ark (which was class). I can't find it cheap, so I want to canvas opinion before blowing my wad. -

American Grafitti - Everyone says it, but the soundtrack on it is exceptional. Not just a load of 50's music, but a load of 50's music that compliments the picture like few others. I never thought I'd compare George Lucas favourably with Martin Scorcese, but the use of music made me think of him. Not only does the it help the film, but the film brings something out in the songs too. I must've heard Green Onions by Booker T and the MG's a million times, but when it's used to introduce the race I made a little bit of man goo in my pants. It's a shame Star Wars has taken over Lucas' life, I'd like to see some other original material. The Third Man - I can't see it personally. It's supposed to be the best British film ever made, but I was never drawn into it. Perhaps it's too famous to appreciate now, if I wasn't aware of the entire plot and all the best lines I might have enjoyed it. I don't think so though, because I loved Sunset Blvd, and I knew just as much about that. A Taste of Honey - Came free with the paper a few weeks back. Apparently it's Morrissey's favourite film and he's used a lot of lines from it. I can see why he likes it, because he's a miserable bastard. -

Cheers Bum, don't know if that's sarky since my appraisal of The Descent was so derided, but I will check it out. I'd read that Tarantino said it was the most disturbing film he'd seen. How have you seen it so soon, It's not out till the end of March. Have you been naughty? tut tut. Wallace and gromit in the Curse of the Were Rabbit - Total class, one of the funniest films I've seen in a long time. I particularly enjoyed the joke stolen from Peasepud ("Ay Up" rather than "Alreet"). I didn't really go for the previous W&G's, but this one was so reverential of other films I couldn't fail to be amused. -

Good man, so it is! I'll remind you before I'm up next time tbs tbs 102815 Wicker Man - One of IMDB's best musicals Sunset Blvd. - If you want to see hamming up, look at Gloria Swanson in this (It's in character likie, and spoils nothing). I'm ashamed it's taken me this long to see it, and I only got it because it was £2 on teleport (bargain). The whole think is bizarre, the dead monkey is one of the most macabre things I've seen on screen. I watched most of it with open mouthed astonishment. For a film made 55 years ago it's still relevant and disturbing. His Big White Self - I know nothing about South Africa, so this was a lesson. It's a shame all the change that's gone on seems to have yielded little positive effects so far. An informative but uninspiring documentary. -
The Flaming Lips - At War With The Mystics 2 tracks in and I'm loving it. Unexpectedly. I thought they'd be chasing the mainstream dollar after the success of Yoshimi and I've never loved a Flaming lips album. They've always got a couple of class songs on but never enough to hold my interest. Hopefully the high standard will continue.

Class. Wye aye, Wye aye man! When I was out on Saturday an alltime classic song came on and then someone told me it was the blackeyed peas who'd sampled it. I was severely inebriated at the time though. can anyone tell me what song they've ripped off? Cheers 101291 aye its off pulp fiction called Misirlou and was sung by dick dale and his deltones. 101408 Aye, that was the one. Here's me giving it me best John Travolta, dancing me back off and someone tells me it's being performed by a band I loathe. Shudder

Appearance is a tad messy? How can I improve it then Chris? 98549 That's bollocks like. I only stay with this forum because it's a right looker. 98560 Agreed. The temporary N-O board looks better than the standard one.

Cheers, couldn't remember the late night replay. They want to release the DVD like. "You want the Moon on a stick"

Was TMWRNJ on on a Sunday morning? I'm sure it was, but I'm also sure it couldn't have been, due to the fact it invloved drinking gallons of sperm, and an orange freaking out and telling people to fuck off. Am I getting confused with Fist of Fun? Was that on later? And which one included "When things spill get knocked over or fall out of cupboards" with Greg Eviggen from My Two Dads?

Howay man 98542 Oops, I forgot...

I'd have thought those with a vested interest in Toontastic would be trying to keep interested anyone joining in the wake of NOL's implosion, rather than alienating them. Then again, I suppose visitors here come for the craic and stay for the abuse. Sado's tbh.

We can only pray it doesn't include a Flea trumpet solo.

Jason Mraz - Mr A-Z - Not really my bag like so it'll be getting deleted. Arctic Monkeys - I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor - Don't really rate the album, but it's a great song and i'm trying to work out the guitar. Only got the fill on 1:05 to sort, so if anyone can help...
