% Wage stats.... Min - 49.5% Max - 92.3% Mean - 72.3% Median - 73.5% Newcastle - 68.7% So if you are using wages as a measure of ambition, while not being bottom, we are (in 11/12) below average...only slightly. In 12/13 our TV money was reduced and our wages increased, so I am guessing we will move above average for last season.

Couldn't be trusted to sound convincing if he said it in an interview.

We have the 7th highest turnover, the 8th highest wage bill and the 9th best (lowest) wages to turnover ratio. Only Villa have a higher wage bill on a smaller turnover. http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/premier-league-201112-some-girls-are.html

It seems to be about getting Mike Ashley to repeat his frequently stated aim of running a self financing club that can reach the top ten of the Premier league. In what sense is it worth boycotting 1 game to hear that again?
-
Just been checking out the #boycottmikeashley hashtag on Twitter. Doesn't look like it's building much momentum. https://twitter.com/search?q=%23boycottmikeashley&mode=realtime&src=typd Maybe trending in Dylan the Irish fella's house. Always easiest to boycott games you never went to in the first place I find.

How did the Premier League teams fair in the Transfer Window

I can't see how anyone would watch the difference he made on Saturday and then say that bringing in Remy only deserves a zero. -
I disagree with just about everything in that post. The "facts" and opinion.

It's not defending anyone in charge to say that this window has been less of a cluster fuck the last summer. It's not supporting the owner to say Pardew has a better first team than many clubs. ..or that his squad has more depth than many ...or that the injury crisis last year was up there with the worst. ...or that we will be playing less games this year. ...or that the squad is better than last September. All that can be true as well as Ashley being a cock for not hoying another £10m or so at us. We all know that Ashley is a cock and would get hit on the back of the head if he dropped a penny.

I'm going to say 8th.

The wife and mother in law are the only 2 people that ring in either direction on it. They have a "secret" ring to let them know it's them and then ring again to get an answer. It's mainly the mother in laws fault. I keep telling her Giff Gaff calls are all free to each other at all times and the line rental is a fraction, but she won't have it.

http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?/topic/34490-Cheap-Corporatre-tickets-offered-prior-to-public-sale#entry1220838 I'd be as annoyed as everyone else seems to be if it wasn't so utterly predictable and clearly following the same trend as the past 6 years. It's not even as bad as last year's window tbf. Remy is a good addition, albeit not permanent. And we don't have a European campaign to cope with. Why no boycoutt proposed then?

Post number 3 in this otherwise shambolic thread. Lock it and learn the lesson.

You knew no harm was going to come to anyone.

Fuck this shit. I'm off for me tea and a bit of telly. See you in the morning, when we still have Cabaye and have signed no-one.
-
Aye, allegedly. So... "we aren't paying £25m for him, we only want him to sit on the bench as cover!" ...again, another leaked story that suits NUFC more than AFC to get leaked....if it was actually sourced from either club rather than concocted for Twitter.

I realise how confusing it is now that I resurrected this old thread from last time we played Fulham at home. Sorry.

The Mag were saying it's now 72 games stretching back to 2011 since we scored from a corner. http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-articles/newcastle-uniteds-record-breaking-run-reaches-72-matches/ But OPTA say we did score from a corner last season.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2311576/Premier-League-corner-conversion-statistics-Manchester-United-best-Newcastle-United-worst.html Anyone know which game OPTA think we got one in?

With 2 clean sheets in 2 games when those 2 have played I'm not currently going to complain about their defensive inadequacy. Especially having conceded 4 in the game before that with Jonas and tiote in full effect, and Marveaux sitting it out. I say that as someone who has worried about it in the past, I worry I may do again with better opponents, but hope Pardew gives opportunity to a less defensive minded approach in future...especially against lesser teams he's been been annoyingly over cautious against.
